IPhone 5s

The only things I'd be highly unwilling to part with are the camera quality and texting interface on my phone. Extremely nice upgrades from the standard brick.

What people dont seem to understand is that regardless of how technically amazing or unamazing a the new apple products are, theyre still apple products and theyre still something new. Many consumers would way rather use ios than whatever droid software is out there, and lets not forget it doubles as an ipod, the greatest mp3 player that ever was or will be. And its new so people who have had an old phone for three years are ready to buy the phone at the relatively small upgrade price. I dont know a single person who buys a phone without an upgrade unless its used on ebay, so the $800 price tag is the dumbest argument ever.

they would have been a flop, had they not been well made. the iphone touchscreens are the best touchscreens ive used. quick and responsive... as long as you use some skin, it'll never miss a beat. i remember some of the old droid, lg (regular phones, voyager, dare, etc.) and blackberry touchscreens were a nightmare.
 
i could see that. my camera sucks balls and its memory fills so fast i can't hold that many pictures anyway. but thats what a real camera is for anyway
 
32 to 64 doesn't mean you double the number of registers... it means you double you register size (from 32 to 64 bits). This in turn increases your addressable space, from 2^32 to 2^64 (meaning you can address more memory locations).

So I hate to say it, but eheath is right. It really is just about RAM (and addressable hardware memory like videocards).
 
i dont know about the processing and shit. i just have an iphone 5 and it would be fucking retarded to upgrade to the 5s IMO. maybe if i had a 4 or 4s i would tho. iphone 4 seems like a clunky slow piece of junk when i use one after using my 5.

either way, this game releasing for iphone alongside the new phones looks good.

it's a question of...... start locking your fucking phone.

changing the way you lock it has nothing to do with whether or not you lock it at all.

my phone broke today should i wait for the 5s and get that(most tempting), get the 5 after the 5s comes out, or just crack and get the 5 now??
 
It's 9 days from release, you might as well wait if you want one. You'll be kicking yourself otherwise probably.

Go for 5s. Why not.
 
fuck i know its so annoying, i never realized how much i relied on my phone till now. if it was just a price drop and not a new phone aswell i would just pay the extra money, but The guy on top of you is right though i would be kicking myself in the future for not waiting
 
I think the finger print scanner is an awesome idea, but I'm not sure how functional it will be. Also I like the idea of the gold color, but the gold on white looks weird. Would have preferred either entirely gold or gold on black.
 
Yea I don't think the finger print scanner would work well for climbers. My fingertips are constantly being ripped to pieces and shedding calluses from climbing.

It's not exactly the same phone. The 5S is a bit smaller(same size as 5, the 5C is larger) and has a better processor.
 
I mean if you bought an iphone 5, you probably have to wait another year anyways... iphone 6
 
I'm considering getting an s4 now after I can upgrade in November.

Apple hasn't impressed me much. iOS 7 isn't something that special, I'm getting almost the same thing by running a jailbroken 4 on iOS 5 right now.

Also, I don't want to have to pay that much money for a new 5. I was considering getting the 5 because I like the one they have right now. I'm not gonna pay that much for a 5s when I could get an s4 and have some more features. I also don't want to pay for the 5c, because although it's cheaper, it's almost a step backwards from the 5 they have now, and the plastic is completely a step back. I know it's to make them cheaper but it doesn't help in making me want to buy one.

One thing that does want me to stick with apple is the App Store though. You can't deny that apple had a better App Store than google.

Any suggestions to non-iPhones?

I'm gonna get a new phone in November or December and right now the s4 is liking like the best alternative IMO.
 
I know and its a cool feature. I just think it's inconvenient that one might have to choose between having a lifeproof case or using the new feature.
 
I saw the price brought up and then dismissed since most people use upgrade deals, including myself. However, why do you think cell phone bills for data plans are so freakin expensive? You're paying for the phone over time, not actually getting a deal. Well, they are being nice enough to let you pay for it over the course of 2 years... in two years thats 2400 dollars in phone bills. Jeez louise!!!!!!
 
I have the note 2 and rock that shit in my pocket all day. No different feeling than past iPhones.. my brother's iPhone 5 in the otter box feels bigger in pocket.. I highly digs the switch
 
The sony xperia z1 is coming in early october, it has a 20+ mp camera and is faster than the s4. Its also waterproof, which for me is reason enough to buy it.Also, if you don't want a plastic phone go for the htc one
 
I could care less about that, most of you kids are finger printed at birth. I bet over 90% of you guys are in the system and you don't even know it. What bother me about that is its not very secure. no one wipes off a finger print scanner after they use it you know how easy it is to crack a print scanner there's a reason why security agency use retina scanners and not finger prints.
 
fingerprints form in the womb at 22 weeks, and after that all they will do is expand. it is possible that a fingerprint from birth could be used to identify a criminal, i think. but hey what do i know
 
While that may be true, the fact remains that hospitals usually forgo fingerprints for footprints because it's much harder to manipulate a baby's hand.
 
I got it today, I haven't had a new phone in over 2 years, and no I do not buy everything from apple. It's a really nice upgrade from my evo, and iMessage is insanely fast.. Completely changes the texting game.

The fingerprint scanner works 95% of the time and takes about half a second to unlock, really nice feature.

All in all I'm happy, although not a whole lot new from the iPhone 5.
