same here. not so much that im poor more so that i cant see myself paying for a data plan that i will never make use of

This, macrumors comes out with rumors like this just about every day. I like checking up on it a lot but almost none of it is official or confirmed. I mean the title even had a question mark with it..not official.
 
im interested to see the i5's specs. they'll probably continue to be subpar, but that won't stop the mindless drones from loudly proclaiming that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
 
they're definitely one of the more reliable sites, and as you can see in the update, thing are definitely lining up for an october launch. only time will tell though
 
then why does everyone love their iPhone whereas i've heard countless people who got a droid, like it for a few months till it became slow and glitchy, then switched
 
because most of the people that carry smart phones arent smart enough to use them. i wont argue that apple excels in that regard -they do a good job designing products for the average joe. however, for advanced users the iphone is an inferior product.
 
i don't see why you need your phones to be so advanced. i use mine for texting and calling, i dont need a 6 core processer with 32 gigs of ram and a few tb's of memory in it. thats what a computers for. not a cell phone.
 
theyre luxury items. no one needs any of it. do you need to text? no. do you need music on your phone? no. do you need internet at your finger tips? no. but its nice to have. if everyone thought like you, cell phones/computers/etc. wouldnt be what they are today.
 
i'll believe it when there's an official press conference about it. no other tech blogs even posted this story yet too which makes me suspicious
 
do you honestly doubt this at all? i mean come one apple is a company that thrives off the 1 year product cycle. this year being a major exception with no new iphone released back in june. there not gonna hold this thing off forever....ill bet well see it in september if apple has any sense left in them
 
I'm trying to decide on whether or not to get the new one. I may just hold on to my 3GS (coming up on two years in mid-September) and see if I can wait it out towards the next product cycle. I'd hate to break the 5 while skiing. I also heard that the phone would be called the 4GS.

what he said is actually 100% true and it has nothing to do with being a anti mac douchebag. walk into a verizon corporate store and tell them you want to buy a basic feature phone. within the first 30 seconds they will try to get you to switch to a smart phone no matter who you are. verizon employees dont give a shit what you want to buy wether its android or iphone, they make atleast $400 on commission either way. they just wanna sell whats new at the time so they can make bank. i see people everyday who come in (i work for verizon) and dont have 1/4 of the things that their smart phone can do whether its an iphone or android and just bought it because their neightbor/friend/employee/co-worker/some random guy/who fucking ever has one and its "cool". but hey thats corporate america for ya...
 
i walked in an att store to bitch out the manager for adding a data plan to my iphone and he tried to tell me that smartphones are taking over and he would be surprised to see any feature phones on the shelves in a year. lol
 
Does anyone else really hate when people are like " Well Um the Android has superior computing power and all the mindless people of the world buy Iphones but im really techy and hip so only use android." Really just shut up, i will be gettin the phone that i like and no, i dont need to be able to do crazy shit on my fucking phone.
 
this isn't true. i have a friend who works for verizon who is encouraged to sell the droids over iphones, not because it makes him more commission, but the store makes a higher profit off of ir.
 
To you and the other person claiming you don't need to do "crazy shit" on your phone. Why would you buy an iPhone than?...that can do literally the exact same shit as an android phone it just is by Apple and the stuff has different names.

If you don't need to do crazy shit on your phone than buy a shitty phone that doesn't cost you 30 more dollars a month and $200 with an upgrade. Shitty phones do everything you need to do on a phone: Text and call. And the battery life is 10x better.

So please either define your definition of "crazy shit" or stop talking. Because if you honestly look at the specs than if you are going to get a smartphone why not get the one that is the most powerful but almost always the exact same price as an iPhone.

 
Also I highly doubt you are going to fucking lug your computer around when you are going skiing, going to work, cruising around town, going to a party, etc etc.

Even if it is a netbook.

Unless you are talking about your phone in which that post was invalid.
 
this. i literally got the cheapest phone because if i want to do that ill get an ipod touch also where i wont have to pay $30 a month
 
they are both amazing phones but i personnaly prefer the droid for multiple reasons

1. multiple phones to choose from (more personal, options for faster phones, options for bigger screens, faster phones)

2. option for a physical keyboard

3. real multitasking

4. the notification bar, which ios just got

5. open source os

6. open app market allowing releases quicker and other things that some might find "offensive" or "inapropriate"

7. widgets

8. live wallpapers

9. carriers (which this new iphone may solve)

10. with proper maintenance (trust me its really not that hard if you just google it) it runs like new

11. (not sure if it does now but...) flash support

12. no need for a computer (another thing ios5 is fixing)

13. more free apps

I am not a fanboy and have owned both phones and have loved them both and android has grown on me ever since i switched because of carriers and my parents frustration with at&t

and from what ive heard everyone really likes (at least) iphones but you either hate or LOVE your droid
