I have had my iphone 4s for about 3 weeks now. I love it. Some people say that there is no reason to upgrade and they are going to wait for the 5. Its actually way different and better then the 4. Once you have it for like a week you will notice the difference

Also "Siri" is probably the coolest thing I have ever used. You can even ask if where the nearest prostitute is. hahaha

What are your guys thoughts on the phone?
 
siri is the classic example of something that people were unaware that they needed.

And they still don't. Not eating the hype over here.
 
Siri is stupid if you ask me. Hold the home button for 3 seconds then ask it to call someone, when I could just as quickly do it myself. I've tried it out and a lot of things I asked it, it responded "I'm sorry I cannot help you with that."
 
What's different? I benchmarked mine and unless I'm playing a game which I don't do a lot of it was only faster by 1 second. If your on sprint is the only way I could see getting it

People overlook it because it's the same exterior as the iP4, but just like the 3G->3Gs and iPad->iPad 2, the overall speed difference is huge, the A5 shits on the A4 IMO. If they came up with a new exterior design people would love it, since the 4s is still what it would be on the inside, but the iP4 has such a great design they kept it

I went from a 3G to a 4s and it's been great
 
this. i feel the only reason i would use siri is to listen to a text while im driving or something. or to ask ridiculous questions.
 
Why is that funny? The camera is excellent for a phone...and I find Siri to be incredibly useful while driving, where I can safely have text conversations, control music, navigate and more. If you don't believe me get google voice control for your Droidx to see for yourself, minus the witty responses
 
i use the google voice command alot, its been on droid phones for over a year, siri is a dumb down version.

And they posted a video of the iphone vs a 5d on auto, not a legit test.
 
that is a huge improvement for a 3g and why you like it so much , the 3g-3gs was a big move because, i believe the speed doubled, however the ipad 2 shrunk in size and is thinner then the iphone 4 and 4s, so they can obviously do it, they should have done it with the 4s.

and unless you are gaming it is not worth it.

my iphone 4 is only one second slower when opening common apps like safari and messages, the only apps i ever use.

so it is not worth it imo for someone who has a 4, but if someone like you has an older phone it is definitly.
 
Yeah I know that voice control has been in the market for a while, and the dictation button has been around even longer

although...saying Siri is dumbed down is a bold statement. To me "dumbed down" is having to learn specific ways to talk into your phone, instead of using natural speech, that's Siri's biggest "breakthrough". Once Siri comes out of beta and is added to the 4 and 3Gs (only reason it's not is to limit server strain) I feel like it will be a lot more useful in the near future.

And even though the 5D was still a lot better looking in that video, you can't say the 4s wasn't at least a tiny bit impressive. It's got a very good camera (except in low-light) and IMO its the best you can find on a phone as of now
 
by saying its damn good i mean for a cell phone wich you have to admit. To be able to even compare a cellphone camera to a 5D is remarkable. (not that it is anywhere close to the same level)

I would like one, but wont be getting one haha. apparently you can get siri on your iphone 4 now if its jailbroken and is said to be faster.

siri is what i would call a "neat" feature. It could be very useful but not a selling point me. IMO
 
Its not a big improvement and that is exactly what apple wants. Its not worth upgrading form a 4 at all. Apple does this on purpose, they have 2 separate markets, it is targeted for people who still have the 3gs and 3g. By making minor improvements like that is how they make the most money because it allows them to have a new model every year.

I'm glad I have the 4 because we are going to be the target market for the 5 and that is the one that will have different hardware, I have no interest in the 4s. The biggest upgrade was the new ios and we get that anyways
 
I travel a lot for work so while most people probably couldn't give a shit about it being a world phone, that was the number one reason I bought it.
 
i forgot about that.

that is only justifiable for some people, like yourself but still apple should have been making world phones for a while. i guess i will have to grab my blackberry when i travel out of the country, thanks for reminding me about that too.
 
ordered mine yesterday and they said 2 weeks.. shit sucks. I went to try and get one the day they came out since I was due for an upgrade on november 1st. They told me I had to wait which was stupid since it was 15 days and I would be signing my life over to them again for 2 more years. also the guy said hey its not a big deal we are getting another shipment in right about the first of the month so we will have more iphones! riigghhtt I go in and they say they are expecting no shipment and that I have to order my phone and have it mailed to me or the store in 2 weeks.
