Why can't somebody make a tablet pc with a full os? I don't want to connect my tablet to a computer to do shit, it should be a computer itself. I don't want to be handcuffed by apple and their stupid fucking app store. I bought the product, let me do what I want with it.

Heres my opinion: GET WHAT YOU WANT/LIKE BETTER!

personally, i think android pwns the iphone, though many will disagree, which i respect. the fact is that competition=better products. i may not be an apple fan, but ill admit that without competition from apple, innovation would be much slower.
 
They can and they did and they failed. No one wanted a tablet pc with a full os. Microsoft pushed that for years and it failed miserably. Not saying it can't work in the future, maybe consumers have changed, but it has been thought of and is probably something difficult to get approved given its history.
 
word nothing shittier about it I'm sorry if sounded that way, I meant to say shittier looking/feeling version? The iPhone is so solid and sleek looking that it just looks great. The phones and products that do the same thing end up using plastic or just coming up with something that resembles an apple product but doesn't truly have the design quality. Hardware wise it might blow apple products out of the water, which I'm sure some products do but they seem to be templated off the apple products rather than designing their own signature style.

Which like I said might be exactly what their trying to do, keep cost down but provide same type of phone. so someone who doesn't want to pay that much but still wants a sweet functioning phone can do that.

but like the whole round centered home button on all touchscreen phones..apple. The rounded square app icon shapes and sliding front screen...apple. The key board in the render looked very similar to apples iPad keyboard.

I like what the droid did with the lock/unlock code. That's their own thing, and when you see it you know it's droid or motorolla or whatever. Thats the kind of development that needs to happen throughout the design process, software AND hardware.
 
The dropped call thing is greatly exaggerated. For a few reasons but one of the biggest reasons being that the tech journalists that write about consumer technology are mostly located in San Fran and NYC, two places with an abundance of people using smartphones and therefore much more crowded networks and more dropped calls then average.
 
or.... all smart phones share the same problem, and the press look for any little problem with apple and blow it out of proportion and try and make apple look like an crappy company, but the reality is that they have nothing better to talk about, like we didn't just put a close on the longest war in american history, and we are engaged in a war that has no end in sight and will break the longest war in history again
 
most smartphones drop a fraction of the calls the iphone 4 does. steve jobs pulled a total douche move, blaming other phones for the same problem, when in reality it is pretty much nonexistant on those phones, and the iphone 4 drops many more calls.
 
Gotta love the people who jump into discussions and say blanket statements without backing up their views with any logical explanation or facts.
 
My iphone currently no longer detects 3G or wifi, the vibrate doesnt work anymore(i physicaly slide the vibrate switch down and no vibrate), the speakers blew out(which doesnt realy matter because the music function is glitching and cant play music anymore). i often drops calls, and sometimes, it wont even ring, it will just skip to "1 missed message" even with full bars.

My iphone before thats touch screen stopped working, vibrate button stopped working and the top power button thingy also stopped working.

My iphone before that would crash and show a binary screen everytime i opened a stock app (phone, ipod, mail, etc.)

and i had to get it replace once more but i forget why at the moment.

im pretty convinced apple products suck balls right now
 
i personally have an ipad and there is not use for them the only reason that i would sudgest to someone to buy an ipad would be if they travel alot. The ipad is too big to reallly bring with you anywhere. It is a ipod touch but on a ipod touch you can bring with you places.
 
How does it perform in the bathroom? Besides using it on a plane I think the most useful place would be in the bathroom.
