Invaders vs. Anthems vs. Chronic

First off, whats the difference between Anthems and invaders performance wise? I see their both symmetrical, do anthems use invader design and pump up the performance?

Also, purely for park, which of the 3 dominates, im over 200 pounds and need a solid ski that wont wash out, and is light and easy to huck around.

Im buyin one of these 3 for next season, and all can be found for sick prices, so price is not an issue..

i kno you didnt ask this... but maybe check out next years blend too...its 100 underfoot and in a 186 they would definitely be able to support you
 
okay, don't get an invader or anthem...they are super soft...lots of fun but they won't support you well. Get a chroic or blend if you want to stick to line, look at K2 Extremes too...
 
I am 6'2 and yeah it seems i should be tokng the chron, and/or the blend next year.. Fuck if only the butter point could be used in all Line skis it would be as no contest.

im hearing crazy things about the butter point, is it all everyone says it to be with regards to ollies on the flat and nose/tail presses?
 
K so I guess it comes down to if the Anthems are solid enough for my size

I almost feel like the butter zones are a must, as well as the symmetrical function not impacting all mountain skiing, but again, i fuckin hate washing out on huge airs because the damn skis cant support me.

what should be sacrificed?

solid landings

or

butterlicious symmetry
 
learn how to not land backseat and the anthems wont wash out on you. sure they are soft, but its soo sick landing on them because the width acts like a huge shock absorber. i dont know though with you weight, its a tough call.
 
well idk but i rock some of the original invaders that are completely shot (no pop, no edges, no topsheet) and im 5'11 185lbs and they do just fine for me.. yea they wash a little but as long as your landing properly any of the skis would be fine.. just comes down to your prefrence... im very stoked on picking up a pair of 08 invaders very soon, as for it will be a very nice refreshment from my old pieces of shit.. and btw the anthem is just a wider version of the invader (and maybe very slightly stiffer)
 
Don't know if you've made your decision yet, but yeah I'm 6ft 200lbs. I have both the 06/07 Chronics and the 07/08 Anthems. The Anthems work great for me, but you do notice the extra support with the Chronics on bigger jumps. I just prefer the extra playfulness and width of the Anthems I guess. All in all, I think you'd be fine with the Anthems in a 178.
