fuck intrawest they are a realestate company they bought my local mountain 'snowshoe' they built a buncha hotels on it and now they trying to sell the resort and its gonna fuck over all the employees there.

Whistler Blackcomb has a college pass too - $359, but the deadline to buy has passed.

Of course Intrawest is out to make money from things like real estate - its a FOR PROFIT company! Its that money that they (we) get from so many things that goes into putting Quad Chairs, Zuag groomers and sick parks into your resort.

Believe me though, that the top guys at Intrawest have folks just like you in mind right now, wanting to know what you want and what to do to make you happy. Obviously, there will be no free tickets for everyone, nor a quad chair beside every half pipe, but in all honesty, what do you want to see at your resort?

Seriously, if you ride at an Intrawest resort, there is someone there who wants to know exactly what you want. Jodi and I are two of them - tell us!

College pass at whistler for $359, your kidding me, almost makes me want to go back to school...Last year i got to ski mammoth and june free...definatley some perks...and Glacier Shop, is owned by intrawest...good $$$ backing

intrawest resorts always have sick parks because they see 2 things happening there. if your mountain has the best park in all the land people are going to flock their and spend their money their. and 2 because intrawest is so huge they can afford to drop the bills to purchase things like lifts and pipe cutters, new snow cats and snow making.

Ya intrawest, not interwest my bad......... but ur right, i was just checkin out their website they are fucken big... they own whistler,mammoth,stratton, etc.... as alot of you already know..... Stratton out here on the east coast is going to turrn into a west coast style park, give it a few more years, its already getting real big.... but ya if you have the money and the marketing knowledge you can turn any mountain into anything you want.. and they are realizing terrain parks get a huge turnout as well......

and yes they are a Japanese owned real estate company. They deal with ski resorts because the real estate there is worth alot more than most places. Look at squaw for instance the village is owned by intrawest but they dont own or take part in mountain operations.

All I know is that Intrawest resorts have kickass parks, and they just took over Winter Park! Rock On!

Mout snow who is owned by the american ski company had a college pass for 199 bucks, but you couldnt ride on saturdays... what kind of bullshit is that? how good is a pass if you cant ride on a saturday and no holidays which is a few decent weekends out of the year.... so gay

intrawest is very good for somethings, unless you are a 40 year old man and have to pay full price. express cards are a pretty good deal too.

intrawest is a real estate company. they started in vancouver making strip malls. now they're developing resorts, for the sole purpose of selling realestate. The closest Intrawest resort to me is Blue Mountain. The realestate there is worth much much more than the actual hill. the reason why intrawest resorts are usually good on-hill is because intrawest is a partner and helps out the resorts so if the people that are buying condos/renting hotels want to see something on the hill intrawest will help make it happen. to increase the value/selling power of their realestate.

the one thing i odnt like about intrawest is that they develop the place so much that you lose the small ski town feel. it always becomes a euro style village with shopping and stuff. although i do like that it attracts alot of people and creates a good night scene

I worked for Intrawest (at Copper Mountain), and I can attest to the fact that they are NOT a shitty group to work for- I can't complain about it...and of course they're in the business to make money off of real estate, but the only way to make money is to make customers happy- so they must be pretty good at doing that as well! The more you think about it, though, the vast majority of resorts these days are run by giants such as Intrawest and Vail Resorts- even over in Europe, the same thing is going on. It's not going to do any good bitching about how 'Intrawest sucks', so get over it, and just get out there and ski...looks like they're making it pretty affordable!

All I know is that Intrawest is pouring cash into Snowshoe and I picked up a season pass for $280 so I can't complain. I just moved so I'm spending my first season there. I'm not expecting anything like Whistler but I'm expecting on having a decent mountain to call my home base. That's if it ever starts to get cold...

yea. intra west is makin winter park a lot better. much more park stuff everywhere and a new superpipe. that's pretty cool. I don't have a problem with what there doin to Winter Park yet, tho I know a lot of people that hate park so they complain
