Internet Shenanigans??

Hi

So I am on NewSchoolers a lot during my work day, because it's dead, and

one other Disney forum (I am a former Disney employee and I love Disney

everything. Yeah, I know....)

Anyways, I'm not sure if it's just me but every time I come onto NS,

there's a Disney AD on the sidebar or on the top...So, now I'm on my

Disney forum and it's all the advertisement are about hotels around

Disneyland...but now there's an actual ads to meet single skiers. LOLWAT.

SO I'm wondering someone who is techy with internet stuff will be able

to solve the fact that the two polar opposites are advertising on each

others websites?

Is it because of the things I look at it gets in the cookies and it chooses advertising that relates to me?

It's cause you search for disney land and newschoolers.

At one time i had to memorize the algorithm for web deisgn but it's insane.

I don't even search for them. they're always in my browser bar. But I just think it's hilarious how my two favorite things are on both my favorite forums. And it's creepy

Its the DoubleClick tracking cookie. Google bought them a few years ago, and ad targeting like that is something they do.

Same shit happens with sited like evogear or backcountry.com, when you go there and look up for softshells as an example, then whenever you see a backcountry.com add they will show up softshells...
