ya so my school blocks like everything..so no games..or NS..I use to know a ..router? i think they call it..wher u go then type in your website and it gets you around the blocks..but i cant remember it, anybody know one?

at my school, you van go on youtube, but they block the videos. and its not like they just turn flash off or whatever, theyre like really blocked. it sucks.

thanks guys..ill try em out..but ya it sucks..they got way more strict on the blocks this year..last year i could go to NS..but not anymore and the only site that you can get on with games is coolmath4kids.com haha

hahaha

mythreads for aussiskiergirl's post.

Pugproxy.com hasn't been blocked through three consecutive filters our school district has used. Try it.

on a slightly related note, anyone know how to set up a free proxy that will let me use torrents at school?

Its hard to believe they block torrents on all ports, ask a nerd. I know UW has at least 1 port that will let you in/out of their network. As for a proxy the easiest way is to just get a firefox addon switchproxy or foxyproxy then google up some free proxy lists~

i asked them and they said the only way is to set up a proxy. would the firefox thing help? because i can download the .torrent file. its when i try and download the actual file that it doesnt work.

we were making websites in my computer class. i finished after 2 days and we had 2 weeks, to do it. (kids in my class are retarded) so i just went on ns the rest of the weeks. and ns isnt blocked, or any skiing sites at that.

Fack thats way more annoying. I figured they just blocked the actual torrent file from being downloaded. Switchproxy isnt going to help you there~

yeah no. they are hardcore about it here lol. i guess somehow they can block traffic for the program. apparently theres A way. i just dont know what/how

yeah, if the proxies you try are blocked by your school, there are new ones always being made that won't be blocked

ya its stupid..cuz Idk the specifics on how it works, but the guy over our computer system has certain categories of stuff blocked..so some websites that shudnt be blocked at all just dont fall into the wrong category, and arnt "learning oriented" i gues is wat ud call it
