Intermittent fasting

Just don't binge eat after fasting because then you'll def put on pounds. Or develop an eating disorder, which is probably worse. Depending on your values.

So in conclusion, maybe eat some veggies and go for a walk

I'm trying to slim down into last years ski gear. I'm trying to do it without copious amounts of cocaine this year. I'm thinking about just not eating, maybe eating kale seasoned with mtn air till december. I should be good.

Besides, eating is expensive. Just don't. Yolo

Just burn more calories than you consume. No need for extra bullshit.

This was literally my motto when I lost some weight. Calories in, calories out. You need to exercise more than you eat.

I worked out in the evening and I would have a small meal before bed. Just enough so I wasn't hungry. If I waited too long I would get hungry so there was a trick to it. I exercised more and just ate a smaller meal for dinner. All else stayed the same and it felt easy.

This fasting craze will work to lose weight, but some people do it as a lifestyle. It is more of a detox than anything. It gives your body a chance to fully process everything you have eaten. I would recommend doing this fasting if you are planning on working out in the morning. Exercising on an empty stomach forces your body to burn fat and detox. I would recommend at least a litter of water with half a lemon before.

eat healthy foods and less calories and run 3 -4 miles everyday and you will drop weight. Its so god dam simple just get off your ass and run. You dont need a gym membership to get in shape.

There's been numerous studies that intermittent fasting is really effective and promotes good gut health / bacteria, brain health, fitness results, and a bunch more. One of the mechanisms is that it " stresses" your body as it goes through food scarcity, and this somehow leads to a bunch of benefits. I'm sure you can get more info through credible sources.

I've never done it but I've rarely heard of anyone having bad results when they commit to it. I'm planning on doing IF the next time I cut in February, and I'll be curious to see how my strength / energy is affected. Normally when I cut I'm not feeling super great, wonder if that'll change with IF.

Slimfast is just chocolate milk with cocaine. Insider source

I have to before going to the Dr for blood draw once a year. It sucks. I have a high metabolism so Im pretty much eating light meals several times a day.

I fast twice a week for 24 hours at a time, usually from around noon until about noon the next day and I’ve noticed a decent increase in my day to day energy. I still go to the gym on days when I’m fasting, just make sure to drink a LOT of water, and as long as your diet is pretty good otherwise, it’s a great way to give your metabolism a boost and supposedly there’s a lot of other health benefits associated with intermittent fasting but you can google those.

Drink a fuck ton of water and eat whole foods. I put on some weight last winter from eating candy and drinking beer, but I lost it all this summer by sweating my ass off skating and working. In the end it’s as simple as nutrition and exercise.

fasting is complete horse shit. Quit being a fucking idiot, eating healthy is not hard.

Its not horse shit and IF while eating healthy has more benefits then just eating healthy

I'm 6'3", 205 and work out 4-6 times per week. Mix of lifting and running, but not currently on programming. Used to give about zero fucks about what I ate (moved back to the US 6 months ago); I gained about ten pounds, so I decided to clean up the diet and try intermittent fasting. I was strict with it for just under a month.

I really enjoyed it and I was really surprised how easy it was to accomplish (eating only between about noon-1 and 7-8pm). I also liked how it made me plan my meals out a lot better and eat more reasonable portions. My doctor laughed and called it a fad, which I disagree with if you know what you are doing.

What I didn't like was lifting in the mornings or running super early 4:30-6am with a completely empty stomach and then not being able to eat until lunch time. I know that your body can get used to it, but it just does NOT seem like a healthy thing to me. There is no point in doing that unless you have an extremely set schedule and just want to lose weight/do a lot of cardio (I wasn't shooting for any of those things). I stopped because it just didn't mesh up with my schedule.

The best thing I got out of it was realizing the difference between your body telling you that you seriously need to eat because you need sustenance, and when you just tell yourself to eat again because you ate a shit ton of carbs as your a giant fat bodied piece of shit. So that's definitely a plus. PS- We eat a lot when we're bored, never seriously noticed that until I did... and it was shocking.

In other news, what you didn't ask for, is that I just went on a keto kick and I think that is a reasonable way to learn healthy eating habits. I didn't eat all garbage before, I just didn't control portions well or cook for myself as much as I should've. It's hard to get into a rhythm of cooking for yourself with variety and keeping the motivation going. Also, keto made me really stop and look at what is in the shit we eat. Carbs aren't the end of the world, but they aren't good, and they are seemingly in everything. This was just an experiment, but it's changed my perspective and I'm glad I did it.

My best advice: science says intermittent fasting is only productive/beneficial enough if you have less than 18% (I believe) body fat. It's not a magic weight loss trick. There is no magic diet. Download my fitnesspal, log everything, assess it. Read articles. READ RECIPES. Cook for yourself. Exclude shit that's bad for you completely, but always keep a couple dirty secrets around. Find the things you love which are also healthy, get a good rotation of meals going. Do fitness things... idk your level, but walking a few miles per day isn't always fitting into a schedule, so maybe a 20-30 min jog every day is. You don't have to die on an elliptical every day to achieve the results you want, but if you don't drastically change your diet you won't achieve the results I'm sure you desire.

Yea do it

Being hungry is perfectly fine, nobody has tried real fasting here

When you go broke, fasting occurs. If your not living with your mom as a student, you know what being hungry is like.

The secret to loosing weight is expending more energy than you intake. Last year, I lost 30lbs in a few months by touring everyday between 5-10km everyday. Hunger drops and your so exhausted that you dont wanna cook, so eating becomes a challenge. A friend of mine spent 3 weeks at my place a few years ago. He tried my lifestyle and lost 50lbs in that time.

Thats the secret to loose weight. Find a cardio sport your willing to practice religiously, then do it everyday for 60 days.
