SNow Park is half way between Wanaka and Queenstown. These are reasonablly small towns with minimal rental accomadation, but it is not impossible to get. There are heaps of backpackers around for short term stay, or other wise you will pay about $100 per week for a room in a house, which is about $65 US Dollars. Savage.

how big is this place and is there much else to ride there or around there?

it is.... its off the hook. its only been open for like 3 years now. but the guy who manages it has put heaps of development into it and this year they have installed a new quad chair (used to be a t bar) and plus the guys that build the park are the shit too. they will pretty much build you anything you can think of providing there is the snow. there was this massive wallride about the same size as the HL Whistler one there aswell.

My bro studied abroad there last summer and he said it was the greatest thing ever. DONT GO FOR THE SKIING, jesus christ is that all you people think about. Go to visit one of the most amazing incredible and UNIQUE countries in the world. I mean the lifestyle there is sooo laid back. The way it should be. People are extremely friendly. I mean my bro was there for 2 weeks and met some people and they gave em extra keys TO THEIR HOUSE! Car insurance is like 100 bucks for 4months! Most people around there walk around in bare feet. And yes of course the skiing. Well its pretty dam good and there prob like 2 other people on the sloeps when you on em. Such a great country. I mean now you kno why lord of the rings was filmed there. JUST LOOK at the countryside!

How is it going. I am a New Zelander and spend every weekend in central Otago. That is where Treble cone, Cardrona, Coronet Peak, Remarkables and Snowpark are all within 1hr drive of each other. As for NZ life, no stresses out here, we leave that to you fellas in the states with all your terriorist buddies killing every mo-fo. Wanaka about 5000 people and Queenstown 8000ish people are bith small towns sitting beside mack daddy lakes for water skiiing and wake boarding in the winter. FOr me as a student here, it cost me $325 for a cardona season pass, $350 for Treble cone and $350 I think for a snow park season pass. SO when $1 of ours is worth 60cents or the US dollar that is pretty cheap. Drop me a line if you have any question Skiing out here or New Zeland cause it is a fucken savage place to be.

NZ rips man Snow park is gonna go off this year they have a new quad chair a new super pipe dragon and a shiit load of other new stuff. Treble cone is a sick freeride restort, cadrona is overrated but has a lot of sick pipes but is way to crowded, there are so many japs if your white you will fell like a minority lol (but it all good one love to all) Nz is a really kool place with lots of different sick resorts ,sick surf and lots of variety, go to wanaka not queenstown , wanaka is a much nicer town with lots to do and a really sick skate park and a nice tight group of rippers, queenstown is kinda a shit hole with way to many people and a bad vibe, overall though nz is sick but i warn you now there are no hot girls in nz so try bring a hottie with you, also if your around in late aug early september look out for the ulta-matum 'boxing match' its gonna be a big jam session comp featuring only boxes in the lay out and some other secret stuff more details as we get closer to event time, Hope every one has a good summer and see you in wanaka.

www.ulta-matum.com coming march 25th for real this time

ALso one coming down to nz be sure to check out hte club fields like cragieburn and olympis and ohau down south another amazing resort with some of the best views i have eva seen.

www.ulta-matum.com coming may 25th the wait is ova

for sure.. i forgot to mention that stuff. the club fields are ridiculous. just one of my clubby stories. I got up in the morn and it was dumpin in canterbury (close to mount hutt and clubbys). Mount hutt was closed due to gale winds but the clubbys were open with 56cm of new snow overnightand light winds. we drove up there like a one way 4x4 track where you ford a few rivers and shit and it was all like covered in snow and stuff. once we got up to the carpark the walk begins. we were at one called broken river. we shhoved all our gear in the goods lift and started the hike. the hike is about 30min to 45min up through some dense bush. once at the top of the treeline you find the lodges and goods lift unloading thing. we bought our lift tickets which were $15 NZ (like 8 US). then started the next hike with our gears on our back to the first rope tow. i know what your thinkn rope tow. holy shit. in 56cm of fresh. yep. but these are no ordinary rope tows. they are nutcracker ropetows. you use like a climbing harness which has got this clamp that looks like a nutcracker on it. what you do is you grab the rope and start moving and then put the clamp on. you then just hold the clamp shut and the tow pulls you up thje hill easy as. the rope tows are knarly like up some fuckin steep terrain but they are damn quick. so basically what happens next is up to you. the field isnt groomed so its jsut fresh everywhere. we built a massive BC booter in bounds!!! and hit it for like the rest of the day and believe it or not they actually have night skiing aswell so you can hit it right up until like 10pm. and best of all only sixteen people turned up to ski that day and 7 of them were my mates so the choice is yours.

thats my story pretty big but thst is what i have to say about club ski fields. and those days repeated for like another 3 days until the storm passed. and two weeks later even after it hadnt snowed it still wasnt tracked out.

Year, year, year. New Zealand is where it is at. I know we dont produce super models, aside rachael hunter, but come down to dunedin. there is 30,000 uni, t-col and poly tec students here. There is also more girls than guys out of that lot.

NZ looks sick. I'm from Australia so i dont get over there cuz its winter there when it is here, but snowpark looks mad

probably in wanaka which is like 15 min drive from snow park. all the fields in NZ have access roads that are reasnobly knarly to American and Canadian standards.

You can also stay up the mountain in dormatry style accomadation. They also have Flasher style accomadation if your budget is a little more flexable. I am not too sure how much the dormatry style accomdation would be but I would say it would be under $50 NZ per night. SO at $1 for 60 cents US that is pretty cheap. This would be ideal if you were only here for a short term stay. especially if they are doing night seesions. Other than that as stated above Wanaka is the best place to stay. If any body was serious about coming I could do some reasearch and find out a few prices for back packers, as I have a mate that works at the youth hostel in Wanaka.

Yo, Wanaka is more like 30mins away from snowpark, but its a sweet drive and you can get picked up hitchhiking everyday sooo easy just have to get up a little earlier than the rest.

Snow park is ultimate, no bad vibes up there boarders and skiers just chilling and doing what they want, sooo sick.

We got a crew here in Dunedin of about 10 of us and we'll be hitting it everyweekend and in the holidays. see you there.

COME TO SNOW PARK NZ!

hopefully in 2 years I will be there doing an intership with a resort through UVM. They said one kid did that a few years ago. Sounds like an amazing place, can't wait to leave the crappy east coast of america

going to NZ in three weeks, heading to MT. Hutt, i can't wait, hopefully i can check out snowpark as well
