Insulated bibs???

I'm looking for some bib pants with good warm insulation but all the bibs I find seem to be shells.... I love a shell jacket but I really need insulation for the lower half, my saga shell bib just isn't cutting it any more, even with good thermals.

Anyone have / know of good quality insulated bib pants?

Thanks!

If you really need that much insulation for your legs, I'd personally recommend just getting some insulated pants, 3/4 pants, or shorts. It'll make your system a lot more versatile if you ever ski when it's warm out.

There are now a lot of options for insulated pants/shorts, but I've linked a few below. The cheapest option would just be to layer some heavy fleece sweatpants under the shell. If you're super cold, look for something with Primaloft or some other synthetic insulation.

*also The North Face is coming out with a 3/4 pant version of their Ventrix jacket, which should be pretty sweet and not crazy expensive.

Virtika bibs are insulated and super warm. It's like a sleeping bag that you can ski in. Super warm and recommended for those bitter cold pow days. I was out lapping hard on the day that was so cold my ski pole grip snapped in half like it was made of peanut brittle.

thanks, I have a nano puff hoodie which is great - didnt realise there were pants as well. how breathable are those snap-t fleece pants?

The Snap-T pants aren't the most breathable, but they'll definitely be more breathable than any baffled insulative pants (e.g., Nano Puff). I'd say they fit somewhere between a very heavy base layer and an insulated pant. They're probably a bit more breathable than a typical sweatpant.
