Instructions on making a box/rail.

I'm looking for some links or just guidance on making a homemade rail and box. I've got a home depot five minutes from home so materials are no problem and I've got a sweet area to do it. I was wondering if anyone has links to instructions or just could help me out themselves.

Use some good material that you will slide on because if you get cheap stuff soon it will split.
