Has anyone tried this, or even heard of it yet? Its soposedly a polymer that absorbs water and expands to 100 times it's size... Well I guess its acts a lot like real snow and can be molded together and everything so i was just wondering if anyone had tried it for summer jibs yet...

I made some in Chem. this week. It's a compound very similer to what is used in diapers, and can absord around 40 times it's weight in water. Its a powdery substance, and pretty slick. The problem is, it doens't clump or pack, its a powder or a gel. I wouldn't use it by itself, but if you used it with a already good summer set up it would prob. work great.

better to burn out...

YEa i saw this stuff before i have never heard of n e one using it for skiing but if it packs that would be phat to make an urban kicker for rails in the summer!

does anyone want to figure out how much of the stuff is a good amount? i have no clue how much to get but if 1 lb makes a decent amount, maybe ill get some.

If thats the shit they put inside diapers, I remember doing something with that in science in elementary school and thinking about fake snow...but its pretty bad for the environment i hear. Just put down a tarp so it doesnt seep into the ground, snowfence, and spread some of that on. If anyone tries this please let me know, it sounds promising.

I think it's called 'sodium poly-acrelate' it's fun to put in toilets as a prank. or even better, go to a restaurant and replace the sugar with it, then when someone puts it in their coffee it goes all solid. (because it's hot, the reaction happens really quickly) fun to see their reaction.
