I don't have a helmet, there's countless times where I've been going around 60 km/h so only like 40 mph and hit a piece of shitty cement etc. Countless times I know for certain I could have easily died.
That was ridiculous and i think it was shot like near where i live which is even crazier cause the ac transit bus was shown. Crazzy shit nonetheless. Id shit myself. I ve gone probably close to 40 on a longboard but its nothing like this this was a good 60+ mph down a narrow two lane road. those guys have mad balls and skill.
pretty sweet video but i have a sneaking suspicion they werent going as fast as it made it look...
if you know how to fall and roll right you usually wont get too much more then road rash and some bruises. if you arent expecting it and dont know how to fall, it can hurt a little more. i've fallen going 70km/h and gotten only minor scrapes, but i've also fallen going 20km/h and gotten alotttt of road rash, all depends. leathers are a great investment though for anyone doing serious DH.
i'm amazed at how many of you are amazed at this...don't a lot of people on this site longboard? or do they just cruise the city streets all day? it's a good vid, but it's nothing special.
i longboard a lot, and i have hella respect for that. It doesn't look like much, but thats a huge route, so not only do they have to negotiate every turn, they have to keep the stamina to not get tired while doing so
Give props where its due, those guys were fucking flying down the road and their was a significant traffic risk. They were ripping pretty fucking good.
all i'm saying is that i know at least 30 people who do this exact thing. they'll spend an entire day driving out to a sick hill and ripping up and down it all day. i thought that when people talked about longboarding that this is what they meant. like i said, it's a good vid, but it's nothing special, or new, this is what longboards are built for.
thy're not tucking very much so it's not too tiring. if they were tucking the whole time then it would be pretty intensive.
and to k-rob, yes its not the most impressive thing ever to be seen but they are goin a relatively fast speed in a pretty trafficked area. i know at least 30 people as well(me included) who do stuff like this for hours at a time but im still impressed with this. its great filming and it showed they were really haveing fun, lighten up.
yeah hella people longboard, i do(not that good) but this idk this just owns most longboard vids im thinkin because the filming was awesome it just made it seem so intense, like you were there. it just pwns
yeah, i was mainly talking about people like the thread poster who didn't know that this was what longboarding was about. like i said in my first post, good vid, but it's not like a newfound sport or anything haha. i will give huge props to those guys for riding in suits though, i would never ride anything like that without leathers.
