Innocence Vs Ignorance

A child is innocent, there's no disputing that. But at what point does innocence become ignorance. Are they essentially the same?

well i think when you start making decisions, you lose ure innocence. Do it without any knowledge, and tahts ignorance.

Thats a really good question Jay. There definately is a point where the 'switch' happens. I would hazard a guess and say that it probably has to do with the amount of responsibility that the child gives himself. At a certain point the child has to be responsible for its own actions but the child also has to accept that responsibilty. Hmm, I'm confused. Beer time. Good question though.

I think that innocence is generally associated with youth, and ignorance with older people. I think petek's on the right track, that innocence dissolves when you start making your own decisions. If you're older and don't have the sense to make informed decisions, you're ignorant.

are they not the same thing. Innocence is just ignorance without the possiblity of being non-ignorant. So basically it comes to choice. the molment a kid has the option to not be ignorant you can no longer say that it it just the childs innocence. I think it's a lot like a child crying there's a point where a child goes from crying all the time over everything to having the option between crying over everything or tryin other methods. when they know they could choose another way of going about things yet they choose to cry, then they're doing wrong.

i think innocence becomes ignorance when a child can make a decision based on knowing what's right and what's wrong. when a child can look at a choice and has the ability to determine the consequences of each option, that's when innocence turns into ignorance

If you say something is indescribable, isn't that describing it?

If the kid new what was rite and wat was rong and the consequenses of each he wouldnt really be ignorent now would he?, hed be informed, the opposite of ignorent.

I'm talking about adults though. Can an normal adult be innocent? I have always said that I like girls who are innocent. At the same time, I've never cared much for girls who are ignorant, but recently I've started to think that there really isn't a difference.
