Does anyone here rollerblade cause i was wondering if i should start this spring to make me a better skier. I can do rails on skis but i was wondering if it would improve my rail skills. I also have a huge skatepark right down the street from my house so it would be something to do. Any comments would be great cause i dont feel like dropen 200 on skates if it isnt worth it.

sorry to bring up such an old thread but i was thinking the same and i actually went out today and just fooled around the neighborhood and went up to burton and they had this teeny rail so i just tried jumping on it and no way slid like two feet haha and it was really fun.

so there should be a cult for this. that someone should invite me to. thankeys!! :)

there is.

and jea dude its totally worth it. it keeps yur confidence and balance on rails up to par over the summer and realy improves ur style.

screw gayness flame it up bitch haha

i just found a pair of skaterblades i got for rails like four years ago and they were too big for me then. perfecto!!

if you are saying a pretty legit sport can get boring and gay are you saying later you may think, because skiing is rather expensive and is super legit, that skiing will get gay and boring????? hmmmmm?????!!!! explain!

no it doesn't help, it just makes you wonder why you can do way bigger rails on skates and are a pussy on skis.

yeah...the only thing gay is men that put penises into eachothers butts. there. that is gay.

happy? now you know what gay is.

i strapped them on for the first time on sunday in the last 3 years. i quickly got into it again and after 2 days i got 450's out of my rail and 5's off a set of stairs.

i really want to start and get real good

yeah second that cult invite

but, what i really want is to take rollerblades, and make those like street skate things, except that there would be a flex pattern, so that you could butter on your nose and tails, would be so sick

cmon man u can get skates under 200... not tht bad... check out www.rollerwarehouse.com

and it deff helps with rails in skiing.... soooo much...

also improves style on rails... and its hella fun... alot better than sitting around waiting for winter to come back...

i have a pair of trs alphas (all white) size 8.5 that ive never used other than in my friends front yard for like 15 mins that ill sell. make an offer

hey i think im getting new skates and i have the salomon streets size 9.5 men brandon campbell edition i may sell them if ur interested

blading is a good way to gain balance and stuff, but blading is so much more technical than skiing will ever be

You can get a good pair of skates for right around $100. Definitely do it. Helps mass for rails. Also, it won't get boring as long as you keep trying new things.

does it matter how big the grind plate is on them or what?since im gonna be a begginer on them will it help to get ones with only 2 wheels?

with 2 wheels u r going to go really really fast and i find when i use to do it, there is more control with 4 wheels but 2 wheels look way better i dunno why they just do

you might find it easier with 2 wheels but some people cant really find the spot with only 2 wheels so they are grind the anti rockers and with 4 wheels you will learn to grind on the right spot

i usta ride 4 wheels then i had 2 wheels and that was really good. it was mad sick for ledges and such.. and now i got antirockers wich r legit too. jea thats bout it

lol because of this thread i think i am gonna get the blades on and head over to the skatepark today. maybe if i decide to get off my ass

yea skatings only sick if you have amillion tons of style and its kinda like skiing without poles

too bad i skateboard

i ride bikes, i kinda wanna fruitboot tho looks kinda fun for just bitchin around out front like make a lil box or sumthin

looks good for bitching around? have u ever seen a rollerblading vid?... its far from "bitching around" they go bigger than just about anyone...

if anyone is thinking about getting some skates but wants something decent, used but still fine, Ive got a couple old pairs in size 10, and maybe some old 5th elements in almost new shape in a 12. pm me. they're just chillin in my garage it'd be cool if someone could find some use for em.

ok first of all is SOAPS better or are they even alive or w/e and second of all where would you purchase this shit

fuck all the snow is starting to melt, which means i have to start skating again, yes it is good cross-training tho, I actually had some decent balance this years, which meant finally figuring switch ups out

the snow is like all gone now where i live and i dont have a ride today to a hill so i am deciding if i should bike or blade. such a hard decision

I guarantee you if you buy some nice skates and learn to grind and learn to spin off drops etc. you will probably be a much better skier and might prefer blading over skiing

Couple questions. Is skate sizes the same as shoe sizes? What are a decent first pair of skates? Does anyone have size 11 or 11.5 they willing to sell?
