I know that most people think inline skating is gay, but i'm physically unable to skateboard, so this is the next best thing for me for summer. anyways, i bought a pair of Solomon skates that i thought would be good for park shit & stuff but i was an idiot & had no idea what i was buying. I was wondering if anyone knows if i need to buy a whole new pair or is there some way that i can like replace the wheels & shit so that i can use them for grinding. I also might have a pair that is perfect for this kind of stuff & don't know it. i'm really new to this kind of thing so if anyone who knows about this shit can help me out, it'd be appreciated.

Whats the name of the skates? If they are anything from the ST series, your in good shape, you cant really modify em for park or street too much otherwise.

The only Salmon skates that use the UFS are their ST aggressive line and their FSK freeride line. I have a pair of FSK deflectors that I use for aggrssive and freeskating.

The entire FSK range is UFS, so I've attached Salomon soul plates to my Deflectors. The frame is pretty solid (250mm CC, like many aggressive frames) and doesn't cost any more than any other aggressive frame. I ride antirocker, with 67mm Pleasure Tools Joyride wheels and Higgs-Boson antirockers. It does pretty good and skates faster than the typical aggressive setup. Besides, I'm only interested in frontsides, backsides, and makios for grinding (I don't want to get ino the habit of using too many soul grinds at the risk of interferring with my skiing), as well as the occasional cess slide (which the FSK range is good at anyway).

The Pleasure Tools wheels are 94a and slide well enough on their own. I generally lean over far enough to balance on my soul plates, so I am only sliding on the smallest 'corner' possible on the wheels. If you get a chance to watch any freeriding skate videos, you will see guys sliding on their wheels and frames.
