Injury question

i got 7 stitches in my knee right on top of the knee cap last night. doctor says that if i put too much strain on the knee b4 the stitches come out then i could bust the stitches and reopen the wound which would suck ass so i shouldnt ski. BUT there is a group of my friends going thursday (3 days after my accident) that arent very good skiiers and i just go w/ them like once a week for fun. i cant bend my knee to suddenly or past 90 degrees or the stitches could pop but i can do these runs so easily that i could basically stand straight up. so my question is if it would be a good idea to just cruise blues all day at a slow pace?

I second that, man you may catch an edge or hit ice, cut off by beginner. anything could happen, stitches don't take all that long to heal if you dont stretch them/ reopen them. keep off the leg and it will do much better.

sounds rough especially since u'll feel good enough to ski. its snowing here too and snow only falls naturally a handfull of times here. o well 8 more days

Let the shit heal kids! It is definately NOT ant where close to a good idea to push yourself before you are fully healed. Look at it this way, your recovery time may seem like an eternity, how about having to go through it again. Would you rather miss a few weeks or the whole season?

i did the same thing to my knee last year, if i were you, dont go skiing, its only 10 days. and if there noobs, dont bother with them, its not worth it, thats my opinion.

That's a really bad idea man. Think about when you sit on the lift... your leg hangs at 90 degrees. Your stitches would rip just like that.

think of it like this:

if u fxck it up again now, its just gonna be longer b4 u can again. so sacrafice a few weeks without it... if u dont u could turn those weeks into months, and the season would be over

don't be dumb. always wait even though it sucks. i've been out for the past month and it feels like forever, but it's better than re-injuring yourself. You always say you'll take it easy, but who wants to do that? good luck

ok im waitin. u guys r right and i knew deep down it was a bad idea. just a question though for ppl who have had stitches b4 cuz i havent. when they come out will i be at 100%, like with i be able to ski at full speed w/o having to worry about reopening the wound?

just wait....... dont hurt yourself worse or you will only go longer without skiing..... it sucks ive been out for a month. I can ski in about a week tho

your body will let you know when your ready. rushing injuries is usually the best way to keep yourself hurt and not ever fully recover. take it seriously.

would your rather wait 10 day and be ready to ski for the rest of the season or ski one day and then have to wait 20 days

who revived this thread? i made it two weeks ago, i waited till it healed and now my knee is 100% and ive been skiing the past five days.

i dont care if you think you're healed or not. you need to take the next year off from any physical activity to let it heal man. come on
