INjuries suck.... In the begging of the season

Last year i hurt my foot coming off a cliff into pow that want as deep as it appeared. The doctor thought it was bruised heel and put me on crutches for 2 weeks.

The week before thanksgiving i started track and could barely walk. I got a doctors appointment that thursday. The doctor took a X-ray and saw nothing, then he took a mri scan. The next day the doctor said it was a stress fracture and set up appointment. I was PISSED because i miss opening day but hey i got december where there is still no one.

I went to the appointment and just moved my foot around asked if it hurt only saying yes twice. He just said out of the blue the dreaded words. Four more weeks of crutches. I was SOOO PISSED. I know have an appointment on New Years Eve. He said with this we need a full recovery or it would be 3 to 6 months. He never said i would be walking on New Years Eve. If i am i have 4 days.

The whole point of this was to hear what you have to say and what injuries have you had like this.

It pisses me off that I have been on this injurie for 10 months now.

yeah man i'm sorry to hear that, about 4 years ago i broke my leg about half way through my season, it sucked but all you need to do is just watch a bunch of ski movies and work out a ton, just you know, no running...but you can still stay in shape and pick up where you left off the season before

Dam that's unlucky but if it makes you feel any better I'm out in January for the season for an Op on my collar bone.

ahh that sucks i know how you feel ive hurt myself more so far this season than i did all last seasonpretty lame

i know how u feel, i dislocated my shoulder the third day skiing, so now i have to ice it and physical theropy and stuff. im still skiing but i have to be careful. it jsut sucks, so i know how u feel man!

i'm pretty sure you don't even need a foot to beg this season. pretty sure the begging of the season can be handled while sitting, you just need a comfy spot.

on the other hand, hope you get better soon! my ski season was completely fucked last year when i bent my knee the wrong way and calf fell apart and some other stuff two days before christmas. took four months to get me back on my skis and i only got to get out two days before the end of the season. so lots of +vibes for you.

that sucks, my dad tore his acl ligement skiing in the backcountry and had to take the rest of that season off and the entire next season as well

i hyperextended my knee a couple years ago, came off a rail early with a candy cane on the end and skied into it, knee had nowhere to go but back.

this weekend one friend has had a bad concussion and another possibly a blown knee, needs toget an MRI to see for sure

broke and screwed up the ligament in my left thumb during my first day out. stuck with a stupid cast for 4-6 weeks

2 years ago I broke my ankle dicking around and missed a trip out west with some friends. Then last year skiing at Killi I broke my collar bone and only skied three times...so I know how you feel. Plus I may have broken my wrist two weeks ago at broomball but I refuse to have it checked out cuz it doesn't hurt bad enough and I don't want to miss another trip out west.

Dangerous place. I am glad to be apart of that conversation.

This my second injury during ski season and this one really sucks cause this year i was so stoked. Maybe it will be how Jon says it will " the less time you ski the more stoked you are when you do, and you ski better"

I am a accident prone. I had a several year strech where i broke something or had a medical emergency during the last week of june on my birthday.

It started with a life threating staff infections when i was 7.

Then i had a compound brake in my wrist.(lost my entire summer)

Broke both wrists

Sprained my wrist (That was a good year but bad sprain)

Broke all the fingers in my left hand.

I took a 25 footer about 40 feet to absolute flat on Saturday and I'm assuming I severely bruised/cracked my right heel, I can't put a single ounce of pressure or walk on my right foot at all, I've been walking around with a wicked limp for the past 2 days. I have yet to see a doctor though

I broke my leg July 1. I went skiing for the first time a week ago and when i hit a rail i sort of ate it. After that my leg feels a little bit week and it now hurts when i twist it.... I still am throwing 3's and stuff no problem, but i'm a bit scared of up-down boxes. =(

ive got some lame lower back problem thats been plagueing me for like the past 4 or 5 months. Ive gottan an MRI and an X-Ray dont show anything, but if i fall hard on my back im out for like a week or two. Its lame cause i can have no symptoms when i ski but one bad fall and im out. Looking to invest in one of those spine protectors but idk how much it wld really help.

I broke my collar bone senior year of high school. It was the weekend before thanksgiving and i broke it playing an early season lacrosse tournement. I was so pissed, i missed the whole season except for two days and couldn't start actually working out again until late march and by then i was playing lacrosse again

i was lookin forward to get out skiing this year after kickin cancers ass with some surgery over the summer.

any who has had a cast on your hand; did you find a glove to fit over it to ski or what did you do?

tore my acl over christmas vacation two years ago. i had to miss pretty much the entire season which really sucked.

yeah getting hurt during ski season always blows

+vibess

about a week before i went on spring break to Sun Valley to ski 2 years ago a friend of mine tackled me at my ski area and broke my collar bone in the process.... i was sooooo pissed

i don't know why he thought it would be a good idea to tackle me..... he was about 200 lbs and i was something like 100 lbs at the time

all i got to do was walk around town and sit in the condo.... it sucked so much

skiers thumb and a 3 inch laceration (4 stitches) today, all from a stupid down rail

out for 10 days only though

broke my back 3rd day out in like the fourth run

waas out for 6 months but got to si before the season ended

i eneded up getting 7 days in so it wasant bad

UPDATE:

So i went to the doctor today and the doctor said you can walk but limited activity for a month and ends that with "Have a fun January". I was pissed, i now have to get high tops for support and keep my heel from moving around. So go to the mall and go into Finish line or some store like that and put on these puma's and the fit and are comftorable. So i buy them and walk 50 ft and just couldnt walk. So now i am back on crutches and the pain is unbearable. same Pain from 6 weeks ago but worse. So now i need to wait a few days hope the High tops were just an agrevation and use an Ace bandage for support. When i was walking to the mall i was fine just a little weird and numb from not walking for 6 weeks. So this really sucks because for the first time in 3 years my hill gets a full park. I live in Ny so the stoke factor is always at a high but skiing just sucks.

Have a happy New Year because I cant go anywhere.

yeah, that does suck, i broke my ankle in 3 spots a couple days before season started, and im out for the whole season and on crutches
