4 weeks to a year depending on how bad you hurt it and your age and what your doin to get better.

19 years old, icing and resting, and it doesn't hurt terribly, but it's real tight and hurts enough to give a real slight limp

Yup, I did that at 18. It'll take a few weeks before you can do things again. if you are good with icing it'll go faster.

1. Ice throughout the day. 20 mins on, 20 mins off.

2. After a 4-5 days, start lightly stretching it every once in a while after icing.

3. Don't heat until at least 2 weeks after the injury.

4. Slowly work back into things

5. Always stretch before doing anything.

i tore my hip flexor 3 years ago. take it easy dont stress it, ice and rest.

i'm dumb so you guys wanna drop some knowledge on my ass? whats a hip flexor ? and how'd you hurt it?

the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend

a hip flexor is the muscle that connects your thigh with your upper torso, it helps lift your leg up when you do high knees and things like that. it's the thing you stretch when you put one knee on the ground and the other foot on the ground and lean forward. it's really important for athletes, sprinters especially and i imagine it's quite important for skiing, moguls especially. i hurt mine fucking around at the park trying to do a back flip on the grass. it's feeling a lot better today after icing it and taking some alleve. I'm thinking about a week until i'll be back running, but i'm going to be light on it for a few weeks.
