Ingrid Backstrom (badass female skier starring in many ski flicks) is competing in the online X-Games video competition, and she losing right now to some skateboarder!

He said top-ten big-mountain. I might agree with that. I don't know, as there really aren't a lot of female big-mountain skiers.
 
there's quite a few female big mountain skiers, ingrid is definitely the best, but there's a lot of charging ladies out there, but they don't get the same opportunities in front of the lens leaning more towards competitions and less known film stuff.
 
Way better than expected. Ingrid holds her own in her edit, but it's not nearly as tech. She'll need NS sway to pull it off. Keep voting!

Ingrid's edit sucks. You are given perfect conditions and can't hit an air over 20ft. She should not win.
 
how is skate boarding more gnarly? ingrid skis lines she could die on, nothing that girl did had more more risk than a sprained ankle or broken wrist.
 
Fucking dumbass gapers don't understand big mountain skiing and style, as usual. There's no way in hell that skateboarding approaches the gnarlyness of big mountain skiing.
 
Outside of a freak avalanche (They do mitigate those risks even in the AK backcountry while filming), there is almost no way you would die on any of those lines. They are tame and boring. Additionally, I am not a park rat, only ski real mountains, and have competed in big mountain comps in the past.

Get over Ingrid's skiing, it is not very good on an absolute scale. Go look at some of the shit thrown down in an Absinthe movie for real consequence big mountain riding.
 
See my previous post. Ingrid's edit is not impressive. No real exposure (compared to true top level AK riding), no real big air. Can she ski, yes, should it win X-games, no.
 
im talking about what she's done in the past...honestly this edit is a pretty poor representation of her skiing.
 
No I agree with you, this edit isn't a great representation of what ingrid can do. I was referring to the kid who called skateboarding a gnarlier sport.
 
Those lines were pretty rad. Not super consequential, but she def skied fast and got air. Can't compare her edit to top guys. You just can't. Especially when she's skiing dreamy soft snow. I bet all that was shot on one trip. The heli lines were all very similar, and then there was the one pillow zone with same snow conditions.
 
Fair enough. Ingrid has produced some of the best female ski segments of all time, and can obviously shred.

I would just hope that people voted on the actual X-games edits and not a person's previous body of work. In which case the skateboard girl should win.
 
I actually enjoyed Ingrid's edit. I thought it was spiffy. But I'm not

expecting everyone to agree on everything, I was just trying to get a

fellow skier some help on a competition.

Keep in mind: This is

for the Viewer's Favorite award. The actual win is chosen by judges. So

yes, the skateboarder may be doing more technical things but Ingrid can

still be a favorite. I don't think you fully understand the contest. Which is fine, because I know reading is difficult these days.

another NS contest sway. I feel sorry for that hot Brazilian skater chick, but Ingrid is rad so who cares. don't fuck with skiers, eh?
 
The skater girl's edit was wayyyy better and more fun to watch but who cares, Ingrid is rad as fuck and I want her to have my babies so she'll have to marry me.
