Well, the older binding is apparently quite different from the newer model and the newer model isn't availible yet so you won't get the info you want.

i got a pair of the reactor 10s and they had a ton of features

-the whole binding rotates to prevent knee injury unlike anyother binding and safer than any other binding

-there is foam like stuff unret the toe and heel so if you flat land or something the impact on your body is less unlike anyother binding

-right under the foam stuff there is a slight gap so the ski's flex pattern stays the same with the binding on as without ulike anyother binding

-its got the quickmount for line skis which is awesome

-made of some strong alluminum so if you hit them with a hammer they wouldn't brake, most bindings are made of mostly plastic

i was checking them out at jibij the other day. they have pretty much all of what that guy up there ^^^ said. they are sweet bindings, and despite what everyone on NS says, they are not heavy, they are comparable to look p12 jib's. if i hade line skis i would rock those bindings in a second.

The only draw back that I can see, is that they are really only compatible with Line skis, which is great if that's you -- however with other makes you have to add a freeride plate, then the bindings.

Bottom line is that if you like the feel of the ski right underneath your foot, this is not a likely option.

Tell me I'm wrong -- maybe I am.

can you just mount them straight onto your ski without the plate. i understand that they wouldnt be interchangable and stuff. id like to get them but i dont really want the extra weight and height of a plate

shit happens when you party naked

you could mount them without the plate, but it would be extremely dangerous since the 4-hole pattern covers such a small area (as opposed to traditional bindings that have 4 holes for both toe and heel) and the threaded holes on line skis are reinforced. i doubt a shop who knew what they were doing would even mount it for you because of liability.

how many mounting points are on the plate. and also, some bindings have 3 mounting points in front but they're mostly rec. bindings

Yeah, talked to a getboards rep over the phone when i ordered my mike nicks and reactors and he said that they just recieved their bindings

For me theres skiing, nothing more, nothing less. And it consumes me, every day im out there, and every day im not

No, there are just 4 on the plate. Most bindings have 7 or 8 screws, in two different areas of the bindings where as the Line binding has only 4 screws all in one point on the binding. The distribution of force won't be nearly as efficient as a normal binding and the binding may be prone to tearing out of the ski... again.

hahahaha very true

yeah getboards got their shipment of reactors Friday, Mine shipped today, and my skis shipped friday, i can't wait for em

i used them a bunch last year, everythign seemed cool with them, i was concerned about the din since i usually use the rossi 140s. But i will tell you that this year i will have a set of reactors on my skis. Also you can mount them on any ski. there is a plate available that you mount to the ski first then you can screw int he line plate. Im not sure how thick it is but ill check when i go to the shop. We just got a buttload in!

Does any one know if you can mount them on any other ski besides line ... like cuz they wouldnt have the metal taped skrew part thats built into the line ski .??? just wondering .

Is it something i said so fuck you to.

if the skis arent line you need the thing on the top in the pic

they had those plates on their skis at jibij, cuz they are demoing all skis with the reactor bindings on them, and i found that the plate was suprisingly thin, you would hardly notice that you have the aditional height under your bindings. they are light as hell too, line really figured it out this time.

yeah i've seen a picture somewhere on this forum of the ractors on a pair of skis that weren't lines. The plate is really thin, hardly noticable at all.

^ the only pairs of lines he's ever ridden where both 142s from 2 years ago. So, very valid oppinion

it's kinda hard to tell sice i've only seen pics but never actually held a plate but how many points are there to mount the plate to the ski? from what i can tell (speculate?), there are only 4. so would a person be able to just mount the reactors right onto skis and just not be able to interchange them between skis. that took way too long. neverminid

shit happens when you party naked

Yeah, from my understanding, someone could mount the bindings directly into the ski if they wanted to. But this would stop their ability to quickly remove and put in the bindings into other multiple pairs of skis. That is, unless heeli-coils are used. But I think the plate also prevents the tearing that I was talking about earlier. I'm not exactly sure though, I'll look into it.

yeah you need the plate to securly hold the binding into place on the ski. The whole reason teh bindings hold in place on lines are because of the metal plate in the ski where it is mounted. If the bindings could safetly be mounted to the ski with a plate then line wouldn't put the metal plate with 4 holes into their ski. The bindings would not hold in place if simply drilled because pressure that is normally on 6 or 8 screw would only be on 4, and it would tear right out of the ski. BUt i think someone above already said that

hahaha the funny thing baout scratch_fs_311 saying the only pair i've ridden were the same pair that he's only ever ridden, VALID OPINION!!!!! Oh yeah and that pair BROKE! HA!!!! I WIN!

You can't mount a Reactor binding to any ski other than a Line ski, unless you use the freedom plate. Period.

Ok, I understand. I thought the freedom plate was something other than the binding which was more or less like an adapter. Its actually just the plate the that connects the toe and heel pieces.

no, the freedom plate is an adaptor for the binding so you can use it on other skis that are not made by line. thus the name 'freedom plate.' the toe and heel pieces are already connected on their own plate.

funny how that pair of skis was acctually mine, and i rode them all the time, compaired to you, who only rode them maybe 3 short periods of time, if that. The skis broke because there were old binding holes in the back of my new bindings. The Crack in the ski after it broke was right along those 2 holes. You know that i have a more valid opinion on line skis. Although it might not be backed up by tons of experience, i definatly have more than you

^ and pat, if you look at some of the K2 posts, you would see that i don't shit on K2's at all. I acctually told one kid Fujative would be a better choice for him than Chronics. Im happy with how line skis feel when im skiing them. Maybe your not, different skiers have different oppinions. Maybe k2 fits ur style more. They have a sick lineup and you really couldn't go wrong. All i hear are good things about the 05 lines, so time will tell. They can't be any worste than my old ones, and those lasted me almost 2 seasons

311 is the Fuckin Shit Mutha Fucka

not many people have ridden the 05 lines, you haven't seen them yet, how do you know they'll last 2 seasons, keep in mind the 2 seasons you had your 142's we didn't have rails until late in the second season, and i skied my PE's all season and they were re-drilled, and the jumps we had this season were bigger then those of past seasons, again, I WIN, LINE SUCKS.
