INFO FOR NEWB

ok in new here and i dont know how this works

how do you pay someone and if he scams you howdyou get your money back? thnk you ... gotta convince my dad to let me buy in thus site lol

Definatly. If i were you, i would send the seller a private message asking him about them and then go from there.

*sigh*

NS does not moderate or take responsibility for any types of transactions on this site. Your best bet is to use paypal or some money transfer service that provides a bit of buyers protection.

Be warned, people have been scammed in the past by members. Usually the dispute is cleared up, but there are just complete assholes out there. I've tried to make things a bit more organized with the NSTOR file. Its basically a database of peoples feedback on transactions with members. Use it to see if the guy you want to buy from has bought or sold a lot of stuff, and decide for yourself if its safe. You can find it usually near the top of the Buyer/Seller thread thats stickied. I hope to update it every page. Unfortunately, it only reports what feedback members decide to give, and we have no real way of stopping people from recommending themselves via aliases, ect. But its better than nothing.

Good luck convincing, it honestly might be a better choice to use ebay or something.

Paypal is an online money transfer service. You have to link it to a Bank account / Credit Card first, and then paypal will confirm that your account is legit. Once you have that, sending money is easy, just use email addresses to send whatever amount. It'll take a little while

for the confirmation to go through (4 days max once you've registered and all), but yeah, a little more protection. You can file claims if someone scams you, but read the fine print, lots of stipulations and time limits.

You can also treat paypal like a bank account, and store money there. Theres also an option to get a credit card through them. Its a reasonable service, I think its only like 3% off for every transaction or something, really minimal for the coverage they give. Look into it.

Yeah, some people are assholes. If I were you, try to get the seller to up his price 20$, and do it throught GearSwap. NS makes a little money(maybe 15$) and its TOTALLY safe, becasue NS is being the middle man for you.

There is always a risk, but the two times I have chanced it, two NS members have had the chance to run off with a combined total of $550 of my money, but luckily they have been honest and trustworthy people. Search the Good/Bad Buyer/Seller thread that's stickied at the top of this forum to see if the person in question is in there....

That's the best I can give.

talk to the dude alot, make sure that you see ACTUAL pictures of the item and call th person and talk to them or better yet, meet them somewhere (not a backalley) and but person to person, and and see there history and talk to some of their friends and see their history
