Inexpensive but good brands of lights

I'm hoping somebody with more experience can weigh in on this. I've only worked with two brands of lights... Lowell and Arri. I've been pricing kits on B&H and lets face it.... lights are expensive... I'm hoping somebody has worked with some more brands that they thought were good.

The lights i'm looking for will almost never leave the studio where they'll be at so i'm not super concerned about having super strong, sturdy lights....

So... does anyone have suggestions of lights they like?

I have these and they actually work really well. Dimmer is super handy, they are all BRIGHT, and yeah. cheap.

i'll check out the brand. mainly want softboxes and umbrella lights... getting into some greenscreen stuff.

They have a few with softboxes. (search 2400w light kit on amazon)

I'd suggest getting nicer lights than these for softboxes though, because they are fairly hot

on a side note whats a decent generator thats nice and quiet?
