how I build my castles...Well, you have to build a large base, close to the ground with blocks of beliefs. As soon as you start building up (ego), you can no longer add to your base..unless you're doing renovations. renovations can work for a while, put it's temporary.

So basically, build a bigger and bigger base first, without building yourself up.

So the only word that actually meant anything there and wasn't completly metaphorical was a rather general 'beliefs'. Come on man, if you want me to understand this then you're going to have to be a bit more concise. I just want to know how you do it, forget all the metaphors and life mechanics crap and say it as it is.

what do you mean?

I thought that was perfect. ok. Take your beliefs, and add them to your collection. Every new one, add it to your collection. Get in a discussion? Have a new belief? instead of thinking you are now one step higher than other people, think instead that you can add it to your collection (you base) biuld the first level of your belief system close to the ground, spread it out. Then once you think you've found great answers. Then build up. Build up your ego. Eventually it will fall, collapse, your ego destroyed. This all happens in different degrees at different times. Some people pick up the pieces and throw it all back together. some build a new one. Some are destroyed and fall into depression.

i don't know how else to explain it.

Sounds weak to me buddy, so basically just take a whole bunch of 'beliefs'. Pick the ones you like, so that you can discuss them, and have them in a 'collection', then when someone picks them apart then start again? I really don't get it. What's the point in living by anything if you expect it to get 'knocked down' eventually? Why not stick to one thing? I don't think I will ever understand this, maybe I need to smoke some Pot to open up a new level of consiousness? :P

the way I interpret what he's saynig (might be wrong, so correct me if i am) is that before you limit yourself to one style of life, or one way of living your life, you have to know what you believe in, and what's important to you. so many people get really stuck in their ways before they really even find out who they are, so instead of living the way they do because it's who they are, and it goes along with what they believe, they do it out of routine, and a sense that it's just the way it has to be. he's trying to state the importance of building a firm belief system of who you are, so that when you do start to choose how to live your life, and what to do with it, that foundation of beliefs will stand up to shit that gets thrown at you in every day life. that's the way i figured it anyways.

quite possibly.

it's one thing to have your belief system 'picked apart' by others. I think most peoples belief system can handle a bit of picking. What happened to me, is after talking to a very few people, I realized my ignorance and I chose to deconstruct, destroy, my ego and start from the bottom, and work up. It's like jenga man.

soon it all falls down, only the strong get up and build it again.

I just think the base we build our system on is old, young, and ignorant. it's probably a few years old, and it's time for a new one.

thats all.

no secrets.

Fair enough man, I don't think I would be emotionally secure enough to have my beliefs changed after a few years, due to the fact that my beliefs shape my future and for my beliefs to change would be incredibly emotionlly taxing? Ya know? I've considered them, and hold strong to them. So I suppose we both just have different ways of dealing with things because we are different people with different personalities, etc. Hope it works out for ya.

skipimp, ya alot of people can handle having their belief system picked apart, but it takes alot to be able to keep it together when alot of really big events happen to just pile up, one after another, with barely a weeks break in between. it's times like those when you realize how strong your 'foundation' is. you might be able to come through it still intact, or, something like that might make you realize that you need to make some major changes, which scares you even more, but if your able to get through those changes, and do it sucessfully, life is a hell of alot better.

very true. The taller the jenga tower gets, even if it is wobbly, the more you learn for next time.

If you can pull through intact with a few holes, thats great. you can patch them up. If you have tons of holes, and you're barely holding together, you rebuild, and you rebuild it that much stronger. Then you don't get those holes again.

exactly. where you really run into trouble though is where you come through with a bunch of huge holes, and just keep going without trying to build back up again. after a while you just can't do it anymore, and basically just have a meltdown.

Meltdown sucks, I've been there a couple of times. But yea, I'm beginning to understand skipimp! :) Rebuilding can occur in a number of ways. Yea, I get what your saying. It doesn't matter what beliefs you hold, or wether they change or not during the constant building and re-building. But you are constantly changing, your 'ego' is growing or shrinking or being obliterated completly :P

Gotcha man.

i think skipimp_ is very perceptive to unleash this fact into the public...i think a small percentage know whats actually going on and im glad someone understands. with enough people like skipimp_ i believe its possible to make people aware that growing intellectually will save the world.

I'm not so sure the world can be saved, nor needs to be saved. All things die eventually, why prolong the agony and destroy the planet while we're at it. Just gives us more incentive to go and enjoy the mountains.

*blushes* *bows*

...well what can I say....thanks!

I am going to try and save the world. We all should. and the moment we all try, the world will be saved. in that ONE INSTANT.

it can't be that hard with mass media out there...all we have to do is take back the airwaves.

to help with that cause, go to adbusters.org and look up 'take back the airwaves'

they're trying to get 2 min out of every hour given to the people so they can say anything they want. Anything.

Thats a huge step, goal, and key to saving the world.
