Indoor terrain park?

Me and my buddy were thinking of starting an indoor terrain park in Toronto, I was wondering how many people would come if this plan were to fall through. Depending on this size of the facility it may only be rails and boxes, but it will be on snowflex.
 
There was a business like that in Portland Oregon I think called the Jibyard. It went under after a year or so because of a lack of business during the winter months (for obvious reasons). So even though ontario has little snow and a long off-season, an investment like that would most certainly fail because your insurance payment and overall building/operating costs would be way to high to balance the books. You would probably have to charge the same amount of money it costs to spend a day at louis.
 
true say, it would have to have some other activities like snowpark niagra for it to make it through the winter or even to attract more people than just skiers and snowboarders. thanks for the feedback
 
considering that joyride 150 is able to survive the summer months, i would imagine that an indoor terrain park could attract some attention. while you'd have some huge slowdown from the ski/snowboard community in the winter, all you would need to do is offer a skatepark and boom problem solved.
 
But the indoor skatepark market is already dominated in the GTA so it doesn't really matter, at least during the summer months, so the revenue simply wont be there.
 
exactly. It would kind of be like woodward at copper with the tramps, skatepark, foam pits and section for rails and boxes
 
And what not* then from there you will be able to see if your targeted number of people is big enough to go full scale or not!
 
there is no such thing these days as "ride at your own risk". if you've got the public riding features on your property you need insurance. there's no way around it.

 
I've thought about investing in a water park facility north of the city that has a recreational license and has camping facilities. All the water is there just needs some building conversion. Hoping it goes under as attendance is almost nil.
 
I would be there for sure! I have thought about building a backyard park. We so need this in Ontario. Talking my husband into building a pair of indoor park skis for me that would be good outside too.
 
Cool thanks for the info! Definitely will make it there this summer ;) maybe they can set me up with some summer lessons. Don't wanna look like such a newb in the park next season lol
