Indoor slopes?

If your a team and have that kinda money they probably would just go to hood or somewhere with snow. besides they gotta be cold might as well enjoy skiing in warm weather when you can.

This might be able to help. I would definitely be cheaper if you are making a dry slope because you wouldn't have to pay for a groomer and snowmaking.

Team training is not where your cash flow would come from as an indoor slope. It has to be near a densely populated area, which is why NJ works. The beauty of the indoor slope is people being able to learn to ski or refine technique without having to spend thousands going to a resort. Lessons and recreational skiers is where the income would be. As mentioned already, they really are not ideal, although not useless as training facilities. Refrigeration and snowmaking costs would be astronomical. Having guaranteed mass amounts of skier visits is always a safer bet than trying to attract athletes. Where pros come in would be hosting a demo event at one of these facilities to build stoke and hopefully retain people in the sport.

Nobody at the US team is gonna say "this pipe is only 12 ft but lets spend millions of dollars to get our entire team their for 3 months in the summer" of course you could train in an indoor slope, but nobody at that level is getting better on 10ft jumps and a 6ft QP.
If you think the Hirano's got to where they are because of indoor slopes idk what to tell you, the japan team is travelling constantly, in the US all winter, etc the best of the best travel to the best of the best.

It depends how you go about it. You could just put together a load of water ramps for summer training. That would be an excellent way to train for jumps. Then you could easily use dendix or snow flex for a rail line setup.

Also, you are the only person in here talking about the US team, a full slopestyle course, and a 22ft halfpipe. Obviously a national team isn’t going to choose some fridge to train in. On the other hand some local east coast freestyle teams might find an indoor park to be a perfect training facility in the off season.
And no, obviously I dont think the Hiranos got where they are entirely because of the kamui misaka pipe. That would be ridiculous and is also not what I said at all. However, you can’t deny that growing up using a year-round indoor halfpipe likely had some influence on their snowboarding abilities
