Alright- I am not gonna put the entire movie on the world wide web, but, I think it's a good idea for some 'companies' mostly film makers to team up and sell their movies in box sets. For instance, us (the Indivisuals), Offtrail Productions, and Farp (if they're West coast) should consider selling something like a 'West Coast Trilogy' of amateur ski films. We all know that the passion to create is stronger in the minds of amateur film makers like ourselves than it is with bigger companies, so if we can sell our movies in a box set (the West coast trilogy sounds pretty sick...) we would def break even if not make ourselves some bank. If anyone reads this post that is making a decent movie, like Offtrail or Farp, hit me up. let's brainstorm. peace

i know yer not knockin our viddy, but we as small film makers aren't interested in top name riders. We are here to showcase the unseen talent and publicize what we're doing on our skis. there are more than enough major film companies spotlighting paid professional riders. my idea (or branch off of some other kid's idea) is that we combine the films which are displaying amateur talent and giving them a foot up into the sponsors and the bigger industry. I kinda see skiing fully evolving into almost 2 separate industries, like pro and am skateboarding. Ever noticed that the TampaAM contest has almost better riders than the X Games and other pro-level contests? I almost see skiing heading in that direction, b/c the kids that aren't pro are goin for it twice as hard as the dudes that have already made it. When you're pro, it doesn't seem like you need to do much to hold your status. I dont know....

i fully agree with what you are saying and have never really thought of that but i find it completely feasable. i agree with some small companies throwin all their movies together for sure, just knowing justin he is really really dedicated to his company and this is not his rookie film but my friends and i are making a video and we have A TON of good footage as well and are about half way throught the editing process on that. it should turn out really good.

sick. throw together a teaser to get used to your editing program. that's what we did. I probly knew 1/10 of the stuff i know now, and our movie is probly equally 10 times better than the trailer. I can't wait to get it out to everyone, and see what kind of comments we get. let us know when you get some product.... wooord

it played pretty quick for me, and what program did you use? i used adobe 6.5 on my segment, and some of my friends did the same, but a few others used final cut 4. and it will all be revised and intro and extras and credits and stuff on final cut pro

dudes...what's goin on?? i'm invloved with this movie, and i consider myself the most passionate skier i know, anyway, my main idea about makin a movie was to #1, above all, make a movie. cuz makin movies is hella fun. i honestly don't give a fuck about showcasin amazing talent, well maybe a little, but for me i just love skiing, and i love ski movies, and now that i can't ski cuz the snow is gone, i am gettin my fix makin a dope movie. I personally don't even wanna sell the movies, but i guess the way its happening is if they are made into DVD's, it costs lotsa money, and someone needs to make that money back?? i would personally like to give them away so that more people can see it, and it would get out more. whatever. its gonna be a dope flick and i think the riders in it have got talent that could be enjoyed by all, and the man doing the majority of editing has got insane skills as well. I see the disease that plagues the industry creeping up here, and we're not even well-know, we're completely unknown. if its all about the passion, which i believe it is, there should be no competition b/w companies, and the money should not really be an issue. i'd rather burn the dvd's on my friend computer and give them away to anyone who wants to see this shit...jsut my opinion

for sure, making dvd's doesn't have to cost a lot of money. its all just a matter of time and hey i got all summer. i agree with PC_revolution i breathe, sleep, skiing and with my season over in a month or so and all that i can do to stay sane is edit. its a ton of fun and we actually got a lot of footy this season. also a few snowboarders who are in our vid who tottally kill it and has a lot of great slc handrails. i think it would be fun to get a few movies together and maybe through this site sell them for cost?

i don't at all agree with you collin. First, no one is fighting, we're brainstorming. My opinion that skiing is heading into 2 different realms (AM and PRo) is definitely valid. There are people who just aren't gonna go pro, period. But, these kids are still insanaly good and can throw down and have the right mentality to be a pro, but it ain't gonna happen for all of us. think about how many towns with concrete there are in the world. now think about how many kids skate that concrete.... look how much competition there is in skating....there simply can't be that many pros, but there CAN be that many ams. Look at every skate ad, they rock their ams almost as hard as their pros, becuase they throw down and they have this hunger in them to become paid athletes. the pros are the best of the best, but once they become pro, their hunger has been satisfied. I'm seein skiing getting to that point, because once again, the competition betwn. athletes to become pro is too high. YES, there WILL be kids that will become paid athletes eventually, but the likelihood is much slimmer. If we can showcase the ams just as hard through our movies, without the hype and money lust (dont say Im bein hypocritical, I'll explain later) we have more of a chance to become recognized for our talent. The money issue is very real. If we want to produce a quality film that rises up with the likes of Offtrail and Farp and OTP or whatever, we will be recognized in the AM world. Money is everywhere, and you can't just give out your hard work and hours for free.

and in no way am I trying to be degrading, but telling people how much passion you have is really lame. you can't compare that shit. and frankly, no one cares how much passion anyone has, because to each our own. You know how much you like skiing, and so does the next kid. Peace, seriousely....
