I am really into indie music, although I don't have a lot of indie artists. Some of my faves include Last Dinosaurs and Two Door Cinema Club. What are some good bands similar to these?

what does 'indie' even mean. i thought it was 'independant' like without a record label, but its become a genre of music? what if a columbian opera singer with a tuba backup didnt have a record label, would they be indie too?someone explain

Indie means technically independent, but the genre Indie is kind of like alternative rock.
