Indiana Jones... Terrible.

The chronicals of narnia sucked wet vag to.... I wonder if all the summer movies are going to be terrible?

unfortunately i saw it too. i want my money back and a signed letter from george lucas and steven spielberg that theyll never do something this stupid ever again.

If it was anything other than an Indiana Jones movie it would have been fucking horrible. Since it was it was decent. I couldn't follow shit, although that might have just been the beer.

it had its moments, but for the most part it was pretty terrible. i didn't think it could get any worse, and then the ending. wow, huge letdown

Wow...this is shitty beans to read.

Maybe i'll peep it on tuesday when its only 4 bucks to see.

I thought it was really good. Is it "Raiders of the Lost Ark"? Of course not, "Raiders" is the greatest adventure movie in the history of film, nothing will ever match it. But this movie is at least on par with "The Temple of Doom" and "Last Crusade." I've seen people complaining about the science fiction in the movie and it just baffles me - have these people even seen the first 3?

What did you all think was so bad about it?

more or less the same here. I just saw it (1 hour ago) and it definately does not come close to the trilogy. But ... It was Entertaining for like 1 of the 3 hours. Lets say, I was not bored.

I don't think anything with Harrison ford and shia lebough could suck and by adding the name INdiana jones to it, you know it'll be epic. so fu@# all u haters

if they had not made such an over the top, blue screened movie, it would have been good. it just ruins my opinion of all involved in its making.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i was so pumped

but i will still see it anyways.

I just watched the bootleg of it by reccomendation of a compadre... needless to say, that was a sad, sad state of affairs.

As a film student, and a huge lost ark fan... I wish they had just left it alone...

Thank god Sean Connery did not do this film... because its a scar on the legacies of everyone else...

btw.. FUCK SHIA LEBOUGH... kid is a fucking prick on a stick asshole who needs to be hit over the head with a sack of dirty diapers...

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW***

Its not the science fiction that got me, just the presentation. I think it would have fit with the movie better if they had skipped the "flesh" alien at the end and just implied that the aliens came to life. Same with the UFO taking off. They could just have easily shown a vortex of rock and debris and still given the message that the UFO had taken off. In a movie where they worked so hard to set the '50's scene and then throw in some futuristic aliens ruined the continuity for me.

I did like the movie though. A few points of contention, but not enough to hate it. This movie followed very closely in the style of the first 3.

except for hes about 95.

they need to stop doing sequels to classics 20 years later. they always pale in comparison and piss people off.

I also had a hard time stomaching it at first, but in retrospect I think that was the best way to stick to the original formula. Indiana Jones movies were never about Hitchcockian suspense or M. Night Shyamalan twists - they always relied on ridiculous, over-the-top action and some science fictiony paranormal element.

I think the movie's biggest shortcoming is simply its newness. No movie released in 2008 can possibly instantaneously have the nostalgic charm of the 1980s originals. But I think 20 years from now it will have the same minor classic status as "The Last Crusade," or at least "The Temple of Doom."

the effects were good, but the actuall storyline and plot were terrible...

worst part is i skipped half day to watch it and my parents found out, hahaha def not worth it

One thing that bothered me for some reason (strangely enough) was the relevance of the introductory scenes. In each of the first 3 movies, the opening scene was full of ridiculous action and supplied some background information but was completely irrelevant to the plot...I don't know why I like that, I guess I just think to really follow the original formula, the opening scene should be more separated from the story.

M. Night Shyamalan also showed the alien when he shouldn't have. What were they thinking. And I think you hit it spot on with the newness comment. Few of us are old enough to remember when the originals came out, but we've all seen them and they have become "classics". However, since then the ideas and styles of these movies have been played out by other copycat movies. So we see this movie and when it is a similar style, people lash out and think its crap because we are used to seeing these now crappy styles. In actuallity this new movie is just as absurd/fun/adventurous/outlandish as the others.

yea man it was horrible for the first 20 minutes i didnt even think it was the chronicles of narnia because it was fucking wierd. plus the final fight which i was waiting for sucked man dick.
