I was wondering if anyone out here has skied Independence Pass? It just opened up and it looks like they still have a ton of snow. I was thinking it might be worth a shred or two however I don't know what's good up there. Anyone got any ideas/advice?
 
whats the deal with the creek at the bottom of 4th? I hear it can be really deep and you might have to swim it, but sometimes people leave ladders across it?
 
I never said I skied it, I said it's really fun. My uncle skis it with his son all the time. I've only skied the east side of the pass just past the summit where you can do laps from the summit down to the road. I can ask them about it if you'd like though.
 
I skied the pass yesterday, did the Three Geisslers from the upper hairpin trailhead. There is still a shit ton of snow left but you want to start very early. Some of the sunnier aspects have started suncupping, but they ski very well until 10:30. N facing aspects are good until around noon.
 
Gonna head down there again anytime soon? I would love to ski some stuff down there, but I dont really think a solo mission is the way to go
 
man I really want to once Lincoln Creek rd opens up, supposedly on the 16th. i got plans to get drunk and eat ribs in Frisco this weekend, but after that im down, usually have mon and tuesday off.
