I’m talking last 10 years

Yeah mb that wasnt directed to you. Hes definitely one of the best recently. But I feel like he hasn’t released an amazing project yet. Hes good and has plenty of bangers, but all of his albums have quite a few misses

RIP MF Doom. If someone thinks rapping is not about lyrics, they need to take a listen to a lot of ny rappers. MF Doom, NAS, Gang Starr. List goes on and on

I have, I just think phonetic sound > meaningful lyrics. I listen to a lot of metal and those lyrics are absolutely meaningless and inaudible 90% of the time but it doesn't make the song bad, figure the same principle for rap. It's just about how it sounds, its music not a lecture

I feel yah, if you’re lyrical heavy you just sound like a preaching bitch, like token, Tom Macdonald etc…

Kendrick and DOOM plus others named got fire flow as well as having great beats and bars. Rap definitely can be lyrically good, but if that’s the focus then it’s weird. You need the whole package to make good music.

you’re an actual clown 2/3 of rocky’s albums from the 2010’s went number one on the billboard tf out of here with aSaP rOcKy iS tHe mOsT uNdeRrAtEd rApPeR oF ThE 2010s

nope ur wrong. live.love.asap peaked at #8..... also never hit streaming til 2022 due to samples clearances, even though it released in like 2010 if my memory is right. a lot of zoomers didnt even know this tape existed because of this. dude never made a dime of that mixtape til last year. released it on worldstar for the culture

most people only talk kendrick, drake, j cole, jay z, kanye when making a big 3 of the 2010's. rocky blows all of them out of the water IMO. live.love.asap is still my favorite rap album, unbeatable production.

said it once ill say it again. ASAP ROCKY IS THE MOST UNDER RATED OF THE 2010's. dont care about ur billboard charts , real hip hop head know how influential that tape was, and what it did for modern hip hop

long.live.asap hit #1, but that doesnt matter when u compare what jay z, k dot, j cole, kanye, etc were selling at the time period.

just to give you some perspective on why billboard ranking doesnt matter, B4DA$$ hit #1.... it really isnt that hard for a mainstream or even underground artist to go #1 on billboard. that also shouldnt discredit rocky being considered underrated when u consider how much good/popular mainsteam hip hop was being released at the time. rocky was the face of the underground til yamborghini high.

still underrated. didnt change my mind. go listen to "babytron" and scroll tiktok for music kiddo

DOOM,nas, etc are all greats in that respective lane for sure, lyricism will always have its place in hip hop.

but u dont necessarily have to be an amazing lyricist to still make good hip hop. it definitely helps tho

a lot of "lyrical" rap just straight up sucks as much as some modern songs do.

yeah this just proves my point even more.

bro you’re obviously a massive rocky stan i don’t need to share the same opinion as you but he sure as hell isn’t the most underrated rapper of an entire decade that’s just silly
