Inception Dubstep Remix

It sounded good, but it also sounded like you didn't do anything other than add some drum beats.

Then when it started to become dubstep, it stopped sounding good. [not a fan of dubstep]

If you're going to remix something, you have to make most of the remix sound like you've done something other than nothing.

Clearly you've got a grasp on some of it though...

Thanks guys. I know dubstep isn't for everyone but I was hoping there were some people on NS who liked it.

I love dubstep but not that. You definitely have some skills but that just isn't the right sound man.

i think parts of need a little work before i could listen to it again, but i enjoyed it overall.

I agree with this. I enjoy dubstep, just wasnt a fan of that. First part of the song was sick tho.

Yeah i enjoyed it up to the point where there was a "wobble"

if you could even call it that. First drop needs to not be in the last 1/4 of the song, and needs to be powerful. And also needs to be not some burping noise but some actual notes that are wobbling.

everything but the dubstep part was good, my constructive criticisim, needs moar wobbles and try and use a different synth, even though you may be going for it to be DURTY or whatever, bits and peices of it sounded like someone had diahreah

Haha. I had this same idea after I saw the Inception.

I liked the drums and everything. It's not exactly the dubstep that I listen to, so It was a bit difficult for me to keep with it the whole way.

How much did you edit the actual song? Because I had a tendency to download songs like that off flv2mp3 and just add drums and a bass, and I hope that's not what you did. It's a big thing in music to have some novelty. Especially in remixes. Like, if you've heard the original already, a remix needs to be something almost entirely new to me, but still keeping those main parts. Like a catchy melody, or chorus.

The whole inception "BAAAAHHHHHHHHH" thing is definitely cool to have, but as for the rest of the song, its just keeping the same.

Anyways hoped that may have helped a bit. Keep creating.

My favorite remix of any inception song is the junkie xl remix, it retains the original feel and chorus of the song while being distinct from the original But good work, i want to get into mixing and djing myself

I'd work with your wobbles to go with the beat more. They seemed random and ill-fitted in the song. Otherwise I like it.

I'll let you do your own research:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubstep

but yeah... OP's song is 92 BPM I would maybe call it electro-hop? I don't even know its not Dubstep...

Also people above were saying things like "I liked it until the dubsteppy part." I'm guessing they are talking about the wobble bass. Those sorts of sound do not, I repeat DO NOT make a song a dubstep song. The tempo, groove, and structure make a song dubstep, not an LFO modulating the pitch or the filter frequency.

I was saying nothing about the quality of OP's song and I want to make that clear, but it should not be called a dubstep remix, thats all...

i really liked it, not being sarcastic, i wouldnt call it dubstep, maybe dubsteps autistic brother but i fucking loved it

I'll give you props for the idea, the beginning was pretty good but once it dropped it was too smooth. It needs to be filthyyy.
