Inappropriate posting in the RIP McConkey FB page

I'm going to preface this post by pointing out that there aren't very many internet-related things that can get under my skin. I've been on newschoolers for the better part of a decade and have grown up with the interned, so I understand that most of the trolling and bullshit that goes on is the result of uneducated and depressed teens who need to anonymously behave shitty to other humans to generate some sort of backwards satisfaction. It's fucked up, yes, but for the most part trolling is very easy to ignore, and as a rule assholes who hide behind screen names and aliases are a waste of time to engage with no matter what the issue might be.

But this shit struck a different cord with me.

I had another one of those moments of realization this morning when I remembered that Shane McConkey isn't with us anymore. It's difficult to comprehend and wrap the mind around, even now. So I threw on one of his seggys and decided to drop by his RIP Shane McConkey facebook group to lay down a celebratory/emotional comment on the wall.

Then, I stumbled upon two kids spamming the comments section on his wall with line-crossing bullshit to the likes of:

Now clearly the logical response to a situation like this would be to flag the post, which I did. And the illogical response would be to send these kids angry pm's where one goes on about how great McConkey was and how shitty these e-tards are. Which I nearly did. But I realized that newschoolers is a different animal with power in numbers, and as we all know, karma is most definitely a bitch.

Anyone who even dares defile a Shane McConkey-related shrine will most definitely suffer bad karma-esque consequences after the fact. I know these are just two bored-to-tears virgins trying to get a rise out of anonymous McConkey fans, or anyone who'll react emotionally to their posts for that matter. But if everyone in the facebook group that cares were to send them a simple "karma -1" private facebook message, I think they might have a clearer understanding of what the situation is.

So please do that if you're in the group. Send "Mohammed" and "Steve" a message containing only "karma -1". The hope is it will cause them to understand the true implications of spewing anonymous hate in a completely inappropriate way, especially in regards to a truly legendary human being.

unfortunately, there's no point responding to those guys. did you read his name? "steve winrar"? most definitely from 4chan. they're just trolling, yes it's incredibly disrepectful, but that's the point. they're doing it to get a rise out of people, try not to give it to them and it'll stop.

They've probably already been removed from facebook. I doubt you're the only one who flagged the posts.
Seriously though, I can't see how someone would even want to do something like that "for the lulz". Mocking someone's death? On their memorial page? Even if they aren't serious, it still means that the real people behind the computers are sick fucks, and that they clearly lack the maturity or brains to even slightly comprehend their "joke". This is part of the reason I can't stand spending any time on 4chan. Maybe I'm just getting older but still...
 
Well, that's like the most common thing they do. Hit memorial pages. Two girls were hit by a train and hundreds of trolls as "Tommy the Tank Engine" or other "trains" were posting shit on their page and calling them names, how they deserved it etc.

People get upset. That's the lulz part. Let's hope these two fuckers will be the only ones on Shane's page.
