In the long run, gopro beats the contour

There is he one and only gopro. It is small and very good quality. It can stand anything with its amazing video quality. I have one and i think its the best little camera you can buy. These are also not too expensive priced at 300$. On the other hand you can choose to go with a contour. These are bigger, clunkier, and can not be mounted in all the places that gopros can. They also do not have as many video settings and only take videos. The camera is also worse quality so i think its pretty easy to see which one is better. To prove the gopro is better my has worked perfect ever since i got it and my friends contour broke after his first fall with it on. He fell once and now it films purple. Now thats why a gopro is better that a contour.

ive used both, and i have to say, contours quality is better, i agree with the mounting problem but at least with the contour u dont look like u have a toaster on your head, and in my experience the contour is pretty hardy

They're both great cameras from what I've seen.

My GoPro had the same pink footage problem as your friends Contour... Gopro was super legit and sent me a new camera.

Just saying though, since you were using it as an argument as to why GoPros are better than Contours.

1. Contour can cost as little as 1/2 of that $300 you paid2. Contour is smaller and lighter

3. Contour has many mounts (maybe not as many over all) but enough to be able to film skiing well with

4.The camera is of equal to better image quality than a go pro

5. Why the fuck would I want to take pics with a helmet camera??

6. I doubt your friend broke it on his 1st run because it is durable especially with a shock/waterproof case that your go pro comes with and contours can come with

7. This thread is retarded and I don't know why I took the time to respond to this idiot

8. And finally I bet you saw some go pro video with Tom Wallsich and bought it. You also have little to no experience or knowledge on/with cameras or the cameras at hand.

oh look, another new member posting a wall of text expressing their shitty view on something they have very lttle experience with because zomgmyfriendgottomwallishfulltiiltsandsaidtheyarerealltcomfyandiwannaafterbangliketammywallnutzwhatcolourshouldiget?

sorry, im really tired and bored

hahahaha you could not be any more wrong. Ever had a contour on your head? its much lighter and MUCH easier to use. also, the contour costs less than $200!

who in the hell would by a gopro for seriouse filmig? It isnt that good and you need to by pretty close to get good footage, it´s good mayby fot follow-cams but that´s only its good for

Contour Roam is the bottom of the line cheap shitty camera from Contour. Compare the best camera from go pro with the worst of contour is a bad idea. But I guess for 1/3 the price of a gopro that quality is expected. Jeez this thread is retarded. BTW get a real camera like a DSLR and you will get way better footage and it will be better. Also IMO Go Pros look worse on top of your head and more n00bs use them. But again this thread is dumb. /rant

pov shots really only look good if your doing a reallllllly gnarly line, other than that pov shots dont really show much of whats going on

No shit 'bro' I was arguing the other side to show people that the OP is wrong not to make a fair 'single minded' comment. I was trying to show that the contour indeed can be portrayed as a lot better than a GoPro. So yes I was being one sided, but with intention.

This is like comparing macs to pcs, it is an endless argument.

You cant portray the contour as a better camera if its not a better camera. Listing off stats isn't getting you anywhere or proving anything.

I use a Canon T2I and both GoPros and Contours suck comparatively. Although I disagree with you,

my contour works fucking awesome and looks great...BOOOYAH...and i don't look like a fuckin teletubby like those with go pros on there head

Well you were comparing Contour saying it was cheaper, well it is cheaper and shittier. The higher end Contour is like 500bucks with no waterproof case. The Basic Go pro which in that video was still better then the Contour is the exact same price 199 without the case or 230 with the case. I dunno I don't own either but If I was to buy one Go pro sounds like the smarter buy.

I use a canon t2i as well.........whooop-de-fucking-do.

Last time i checked we were comparing Go-Pros and Contours.

You can disagree all you want but without backing up your statement no one is going to care

You're making the comparison for us ? if yes, try to make a more serious post, you know, with some clean explanation, properties of each (not just, "that one doesn't fit anywhere like gopro" or "amazing quality" etc), because right now you're being... useless ?

First off, the GoPro can't withstand shit unless its in a case. This differs from the Contour which can easily withstand the average damage a skier would encounter. Furthermore, the Contour is cheaper than the GoPro (I got my Contour Roam brand new from the store for 200). Also, Contours are simply NOT clunkier. Contours only have one little switch that is very glove friendly unlike the GoPro which has fucking metal buttons that half of the time I don't even know if I pressed down far enough (maybe its just me). Also, the Contour can shoot at 360, 720, and 1080p as well as shoot pictures (you can configure this before you go out skiing from your computer). Oh, and by the way, your friends a dumb ass. I've taken the gnarliest falls with this camera on and it has never even scratched. But hey, maybe I'm lucky. Oh and about the mounts I have a helmet mount (side and top), a pole mount, a ski mount (never really use it), and a mount for underneath my board. ALSO, I ALMOST FORGOT, IT HAS 170 DEGREE VIEW AND DOES NOT DISTORT (FISH EYE). This is huge for a camera. Now that is why the Contour is better than the GoPro.
