My mom just asked me where I would like to go skiing after Christmas next year. The only catch is I have an 8 yr old sister and 11 yr old brother so the place needs to have easier terrain for them. I was thinking Whislter but its SO crowded, we were thinking Banff but I would love to go somewhere in the states. U guys who ski down there can give me any suggestions that would be awesome!!

thanks!!

Want a awesome trip for the whole family? Go to Jackson Hole. OK before you go off about how hard it is for little kids listen up. There is one peak there for beginners Apres Vous. Its all groomers and great for beginners through intermediates (also where the park is). It is also big enough to keep them satisfied for a week. Or just put them in ski school and don't worry about it. I went over new years and NO LINES. Enough sick backcountry and inbounds to keep you stoked for years. I suggest you seriously check it out. The down side is it can be pricey to fly there.

Stowe vermont is good, absolutely no lines, terrain of all kinds, pretty big too, and they get some powder days

A good family resort is Winter Park CO, but it has really gay newschool terrain. For you and the family, I'd recommend Copper, Breckenridge, or Beaver Creek in Colorado.

goto park city. my family went out there over february break. i have 4 younger bros/sisters, the youngest is 5, and everyone had an awesome time. plus within 5 mins of each other is deer valley, park city, and the canyons.and like 45min from park city is alta/snowbird and a few other places. utah is unreal. it will dump like 2 feet and be bluebird,45degrees the next day, and there is plenty of terrain for everyone since it satisfied all 7 people in my famiy

fuckers!

yeah i agree, their park blows. but lighted superpipe 9am-9pm on one ticket is pretty sick. i meant park city the town not specifically the mountain since there are like 15 resorts within an hour from park city. but definately utah...

fuckers!

Prk city's pipe is the almost the nices i've skied. Utah is the bomb.. the best snow in the world... really... the terrian is lacking thought.

mabey try Alta, or the canyaonns.

R u cns. or american?

if your from cnd. stay in canada. it il b cheaper

go to whistler. there's something for everyone there (even those who don't like to ski/board), and there's lots of it, too. the lines aren't really *that* bad; i've seen worse at other resorts ... and you'll love it so much you'll want to come back again and again and again. ;)

mt hood would be good. go to meadows if you like open mini bowls and ungroomed, but go to timberline if you want flat easy groomers and cruisers.

Big White in Kelowna is a super fun hill. It's HUGE, second biggest in Canada, and no matter what time of year it is, you can always find fresh tracks, and never have to wait in line. I was there in Christmas, whish is the busiest time of year, and over on the Falcon and Powder chairs, I was just skiing onto the chair. They have a whole chair dedicated for kids too, and a mini terrain park for them if the ywant to try to learn easy tricks on really small jumps. They also have a sick half pipe and a decent boarder cross course. Plus Kelowna is about 30 mins away and they have a ton of sweet clubs and really nice restaurants. Lots of shopping to do there, movie theatres, its a fairly big city, about 200k I think so if you want to take a day off, theres plenty to do there. Its always fairly mild tempurature, but it can get foggy at times at the top, but Whistler can too.

if the 8 and 11 year olds are decent skiiers (and wanna try some powder and stuff) go to kicking horse...best terrain in north america, no lines, and 4000 vertical feet of the fresh stuff....on a good day you can get in 40,000 vertical...that's more than heli-skiing (and you get 2 free days with a cop pass) BEST SKI AREA EVER

If u do go to banff there is 5 different resortsd within 1.5 hour drive. norquay, sunshine, louise, fortress and nakiska. they are all decent hills. Or go to fernie. they have easy to expert. and great snow

I am here to rid the world of the evil substance that calls itself TOFU

whatever you do don't go to bigwhite it is the gayest mountain in the world, the terrain is so easy, you can't see shit and they may call it the second biggest mountain in Canada but its just really spread out. if you want some real skiing for sure go to whistler but stay away from there during the holidays its so packed with people

yeah, banff is a good family place. i went there with my family but unfortunatly i sucked bad when we went there so it was kinda a wasted trip. still good though

Ok, first of all....if you're from canada...don't go to the states....the dollar will absolutly kill you (unless it improves drastically) and if your from the states, go to canada, cause it's dirt cheap.

Banff at christmas = chaos. I worked there last season, we were pushing 6000 skiers, it was retarded. Fernie, is pretty chaotic, but not as bad. Fernie has good terrain for all levels of skiers. Big white is another good option.

ok, during my trips out west, ive been pretty much almost everywhere, (all of CO, utah, tahoe, montana, wyoming) except for whistler and BY FAR the best place in the US is......(drumrole).....TAHOE, best snow, most snow, best terrain, best terrain parks, every place is 1/3 green and 1/3 blue, if i had a chance to move anywhere out west in teh US, itd be TAHOE in a heartbeat
