I need a new bike because mine got jacked back in the fall. I was looking to get a used mountain bike and was hoping for pretty cheap. So, my question is what are the good mountain bikes that i can find for cheap. If there are any better places to check then ebay please tell me.

Since stas didn't say anything about how itll be used, ill help him out. This will serve multiple purposes. FIrst and foremost it must serve as a way around town on those nice summer days. a nice 5 mile ride should be easily doable. Also it cant break from the usual town jumping, over curbs, down stair sets, drops ect. Also needs to be decent in the trails.

where do u live and do u want a hardtail or liek dule suspension... also u want how many speeds?

i have a specilized p2 that needs a new chain and a tune up im trying to get rid of it for liek 350 or 400. its a solid bike and its mad good for urban jibbin. and if u ride withthe seat high it would be easy for riding cept it only has 2 chain rings in the fornt wich means liek a 18 speed or soemthing

I have a 06 kona stinky with fox Dh 40's. its a good bike if your into downhilling. Id probally sell it for 1500. If your interested let me know.

i know your not from new england but for people from NE who are looking for some bikes and parts or what not bustedspoke.com is a pretty good local forum. pinkbike or mtbr is probably your best bet for trying to find a pretty good deal.

I live in IL/WI. I don't know what type of bike I want probably a hard tail since the ones i was looking at on ebay that are duel suspension were more money. It doesn't need to have a bunch of speeds but 10 would be nice.

I just need it to get me to school and back. I wanna get into trail riding and stuff as well.

So what are some good beginner trail bikes?

I have the orange norco sasqautch (hardtail) and it's a decent all around trail/DH/ jump bike... I might be selling it pm if you're interested

It sounds like the Specialized Hardrock could be the perfect bike for you. They are very easy to find used on craigslist/kijiji/ebay if you want to go that route. Look to spend about $350 new, maybe 200 used. Basic trail riding and all around urban use are what it's designed for. Very durable frame also.

(^The disc model costs more of course)

im in the same predicament as this man i want to get into the sport when im go away to school in NH i hear they have good trails there but i also want something to get me around campus and the town, the specialized hardrock seems like a sick bike but i want some other options to choose from does anybody else have some suggestions?

If you want a solid dj bike look for a Giant STP. I have the 2007 Stp1 and it's really dope. You would like it. I will find a good used one, one minute...

word I have an STP, theyre sick bikes, real versatile. I take it urban jibbing one day, trail riding the next, then freeriding the next. Real strong frame if you get into some more serious riding, and its good for road biking a few miles.

i have a trek jack 3. not for sale but if you could find one used it would fit what you're looking for. i don't feel like it is a pure dirt jumping bike. i ride around town, on trails and an occasional 20-30 mile ride with it no problem. really tough too.
