In a final right now- essay on globalization

I just did one in an exam, it was on globalization and sustainability changing business and managorial practices, couldn't take it back with me though sorry.

I searched my computer for the word globalization and this is all I got, sorry I can't be of more help. and I'm not sure how this formatting is going to look when i post it but it's in a chart and it's unfinished and really has not much information about globalization at all. I think my girlfriend wrote it.

Effects of Globalization

Part A

Before What did you know about Globalization before reading?

Before I did this reading I did not know much at all about globalization. I understood that it was a common issue and because I have taken world issues it had been discussed in class but we never had to do an assignment on it so I never learned fully what it entailed. I could tell by the name how ever that it had to do with the entire world working as one.

During - Briefly note new information you find about Globalization during reading.

Having read the information on globalization I now know that globalization can be considered beneficial and detrimental to the world. I also know that it began after the second world war. I know now that the internet and new means of transportation have fueled globalization and made it possible. I also learned that globalization was widening the gap between the richer and poorer countries. Lastly, I learned that globalization is essentially westernizing the entire world, which takes culture away from others.

After - Summarize the reading on Globalization in one main-idea sentence.

Globalization is a term used to describe a world that is more dependant on one another than it used to be, which cause changes in the economy, business and culture.

List three new issues, questions or concerns raised by reading the article.

1. Will multinational corporations continue to control a large share of the world economy?

2. Will academic authors still continue to doubt globalization and consider it a myth?

3. Due to greater technological advancements all the time, how far will globalization go? Will increasing globalization eventually eliminate nations?

Part B

For Greenland, my IBP country globalization has been both beneficial and detrimental. Because of the geography of Greenland the country is very secluded. Globalization has helped to include Greenland in more international affairs because technology makes it easier to reach everywhere. Globalization has stopped the isolation of Greenland. However, it can be said that globalization has forced Greenland into other local cultures and has begun to westernize the remote country. This is a problem for the people of Greenland because although it allows them to move forward in the business world it takes away from their unique culture and ways of living. It is also forcing some to learn English, which is beneficial for doing business, but does not apply to the culture their because English isn’t one of their national languages.

oh you fucken boyscout. i did my work, passing the class man, D's for Diploma. but fuckit, im almost finished with this bullshit and i dont give a fuck

For the boyscout drewmiester

im open to criticism and hate.

Globalization was an inevitable for the world economy. With the introduction of more useful communication and transportation the world has become interlinked from country to country. Even more specialization of labor is able to take place, however, Globalization has its benefits as well as drawbacks.

Commerce between societies started with the human race coming into existence. Early trade routes were established and were the highways for early societies. These traders would exchange items and ideas as well as their culture. This contributed to a blending of cultures between highly contrasting societies. Indian influences such as Buddhism were carried over trading routes penetrating into Central Asia, Tibet, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. This all took place around 200 B.C. and 1500 A.D. This permeation of religious practices isn’t the only example evident in history. Islam expanded on land and sea into West and East Africa, southern Europe, India and Southeast Asia. This expansion established main trade routes from society to society. It gave the common man the ability to set off and travel the land somewhat safely. Muslims would take the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. Merchants and craftsmen sold varying products with ease to these travelers. This illustration of a network stimulating an economy is a microcosmic model for the effects of globalization.

The book failed to point out the finer points of globalization, however, there are many. The spread of commerce has improved the social and economic status for women. Countries have accepted the fact that educated women can greatly benefit society. They are able to enter the work force and contribute to the growth of the nation. Furthermore As a whole, globalization has benefited the living standards of those countries that participate on the global market. Housing, medical care, products and productivity all improve when placed in the global market. Moreover less developed countries are able to utilize the globalization trend as well. They can use foreign capital, global export markets to sell their products and use the technology that more developed countries have produced. This creates faster growth once they do decide to enter the global market. Eventually poverty will lessen as well as higher labor and environmental (hopefully) standards.

Over time communication and transportation abilities have progressed and evolved. Development from a messenger carrying news of a battle on horseback to super-sonic airplanes and the World Wide Web has made its mark in modern society. The change is drastic and so are the ways of life that surround them. Some countries, however, have lacked this development of new technologies. Failing to industrialize left countries in the dust and created an inequality of different nations. The reasons for underdevelopment are attributed to the lack of results it produced for most people. The Nigerians noticed that they were not benefiting from the oil fields that were being exploited on their land. The foreigners were simply taking it out of the country. As a result local people would sabotage production as well as kidnap the foreign oil workers. The word Globalization has become synonymous with “western culture taking over everything”. This has threatened other cultures traditions and fostered a hate inside many people and societies. In turn, globalization has contributed to the many deaths and animosity seen in the 21st century.

Here in America we are observing the cause and affect of outsourcing. This is modern issue with Globalization and we have not yet seen the final outcome. Many obstacles lay ahead as some cultures blend as others resist. Institutions and regulations have been created in the wake of globalization. It is a matter of fine-tuning how we on earth deal with each other. Hopefully we can learn from our past and prosper in our future to become better as not only a nation, but a world civilization. America is the best country in the world though.

Dude....Drew is completely right.
It's your own fault that you need to come to NS (of ALL PLACES) so late in the game to ask for a bailout. Maybe if you were better prepared you wouldn't need to resort to this. That's how school works. Get your act together in ADVANCE. Maybe properly manage your time? WHO KNOWS where that'll get you in the long run...... no sympathy. good luck man.

hahaaahhhhh no. my introduction is the first two and a half lines. and for the people who are bugged by me not "managing my time properly and taking the proper class preparation" ... you guys turned my life around, now im more than motivated/dedicated for Civ class... thanks moms.

not a literal boyscout.
and further in life, yes he definitely will.
i was just jokin around when i said that boyscout shit. you guys take things just way to cereal. drewmiesters not even upset.
ill post my grade in the class in a few weeks so we can see how fucked i am.

everyone hop off your high horse. who gives a shit if this kid wants to be bailed out on his final? you dont have to help him. and what is the point in telling him that hes not going to go far in life? it seems that its very easy for all of you to act as though you are the most morally responsible people in the world, while in actuality you aren't. there's no point in calling him out. simply don't respond. i mean you don't even know him im assuming. maybe he has checked out of school by this point in time. its very annoying when everyone plays this condescending role on every single thread.

that's your essay for a final? you're right, d is for diploma...looks like you're not getting one...sorry

yeah.... what he said

and ryan you prick, ill post the grade i said in a while... you can let this thread die until that time, or you can keep pushing me close and closer to the edge of standing in front of a walmart croud in NY on black friday.

well it's not like any of these kids giving you shit will change or should change your mind. it would make me resent people like that even more. i can picture these said individuals posting that and then feeling completely satisfied with themselves. thinking that they have everything completely under control. and i am definitely a critical person, but i keep that to myself.

see... drewman wasnt tryin to be a prick like the rest of you homo's whove been sippin on to much Haternut latte's from starbucks.

second time with using the haternut reference.... trying to make it stick

People are hating on you because you are so blatantly moronic in your approach towards your schooling. I'm sure that most people who have been posing in here know the correlation between hard work and academic success, and resent lazy pricks (such as yourself) who would rather plagiarize rather than do the work on their own. Bullshitting your way through life will eventually catch up with you, and the results will most likely be unpleasant.
"D's get degrees" .... yah.. good luck to you.

first off, im not lazy. second off chill the fuck out.

also... its D's for diploma
im sorry you take life so seriously, in the meantime, maybe youd like to browse through SkiWineRacks.com maybe youll find a nice present to buy your mom er something. Its just a little business i started from the ground up last year in between my bouts with chronic lazyness.

Don't worry about it. I realize that you've been motivated enough to drill some holes through skis and market them online. I couldn't care less. I just find it annoying that kids come on here and expect people to bail them out (that you want people to send you their work so you can copy-paste it as your own). You didn't get your shit together in time to do it on your own (maybe you can't manage your time, or maybe you don't care...it's irrelevant), and I see that as laziness. I'm showing interest in this thread because I work my ass off in school (and do very well) and I think that your approach to writing this final is horrible. But it's ok. You get out as much as you put in. It just depends what you want out of your school.

i didnt expect anything, just was trying to have some help from some friends. and btw its not cheating, i wouldve cited

I've just majored in International Business so have dealt with the globalisation debate extensively - what context are you coming from though?

I've prob got stuff ranging from free trade/fair trade, regional trade agreements/WTO etc, protectionism etc

Only problem is that mine come from an Australian perspective so it probably wouldn't fit too well.

Its such a broad topic so it would be good to narrow down a bit on what you want?..it sounds like it could be too late though.

yeah to late, thanks though... i think im studying a broad or two in aussie land next year.... ill karma yah up for being so nice

I agree.

And I was kind of in the same boat 20 minutes ago. I had an essay due today at midnight that I just hammered down on. I at least did it but it was a few minutes late and I already received two extensions, hopefully the prof will be feeling nice tomorrow when she opens her e-mails.

considering my current habits of procrastination right now, this thread makes me scared for college.

one time I totally needed an economics paper in college, which I totally procrastinated and just couldn't get done, and a fellow brethern of NS hooked me up, which consequentially resulted in my passing of the course. Ahh the old days, it was like a big family.
