Imus clip of insulting girls' basketball team

I know what he said isn't politically correct or the best time and place to say it, but I agree with him. Most of the women who play on those Eastern basketball teams all look like gangbangers. All he really did was call attention to what they look like, how they dress, which is like gangsters. If they're gonna look like that, then what's wrong with calling them out on it? NOTHING

The team had a press conference voicing their opinions, where several members said that the incident has "scarred them for life".

here is the part that bothers me. the girls get all bent out of shape when don imus calls them ho's but when rappers talk about ho's in different area codes or any other song with the word ho in it, it becomes the song of the week at any club you go to. im not saying what imus said was right, but all that i see is a double standard. if one person can say ho and it is villified by the same media that jumps over eachother to cannoodle with any rapper that talks about fuckin ho's and slapping bitches. either it's ok to say or it isnt. freedom of speech is not an arbitrary discussion.

The man was clearly making a joke, people make offensive jokes all the time. Its just that he has such a large and public audiance that got him into this much trouble. I don't think it was that bad, it gives the rest of the radio world something to squabble about also so good for them.
