Yeah, they have lots of rails, just last year they didnt put the effort into setting the rails...Hope that will change this year

there supposed to get a new snowmaking resevoir so id bet on the pipe being open sooner and there being more tables

they already have the new resivior and its like 3 or 4 times the old one. not to mention they have fixed the problem that didnt alow them to use the fan guns last year. oh and they put alot of new pipe for water and air in.

 
have they every though of expanding to the ridge on the far side of chickede it looks like theres some steep skis over there
 
unfortunatly they dnt own it and the ppl who do want like a mil for it so its not gona happen but it would be sick and probly end up turning wenworht ino a resort not just a hill

which wouldnt be all bad
 
on the wentworth site they say they are going to post the snownotes thing to tell us about whats going on for 05-06 season this week. yessss I cant wait

ive lived in nova scotia for ten years and ive never skied at wentworth....crazy
 
I dont care if you live in Yarmouth, compared to martock wentworth is much better. Just try and make it a couple times a year that works for me.
 
The pitch on Skiers right of Chickadee faces nearly due south because of this, sucks all but the biggest of days. Tight evergreens, and crappy snow. Now the skiing off Head Head north face, tis sweet, but hard to get to and a long walk out to the road.
 
i live in bridgewater which is about 2 hours 20 mins from wentworth, and i still got up there about 10-12 times last year, but i like it so much bettert than martock i bought a season pass for there this year.

- the moral of my rambling on... go the wentworth.
 
^^^ still it would be cool if they thinned out some of the trees in there cause theres a realy good slope there.
 
hey, what about the canada games rumours?? i guess that wouldn't be for another 5 years though. but it would def. need a real mogoul run and an aerial site within that time if it was true.
 
hey, NB government put in something like over $3 million to make Sugarloaf, NB suitable for the freestyle events... where in NS is even remotely suitable?
 
Games will be in Nova Scotia in 2011. the ski hill hasn't been selected yet but I will post as soon as I hear. The next games are in 2007 in Whitehorse, and yes Gov't spends tons of cash accomidating and bringing hill specs up to par for the games.
 
It is north from the cross country trails. Depending on your gear, skills, snow, etc.. it could take you anywhere from 20-90 minutes to get there from the top of the mountain. The ski out is about the same, plus car shuttle. It faces off to "the Mall" or the Tatamagouche Rd. It is the best consistent fall line on the mountain and higher than the actual ski hill. It is commited and you need to know where the goods are, otherwise the trees can be very tight.

As far as I know it was first skied in the 60's and then again in the 80's and now the 00's.

Again the North Chickadee Ridge that faces the Explosion is not an area to build a ski trail. Because it faces south it has avery hard time retaining snow. So it just ain't ever going to happen unless our temperatures here get about 10 degrees cooler a year.
 
well I was looking on google earth, and you can actualy see the mountains in 3d, and I saw that like the mountain to the side of chickady, well there is like a north hill too... look Ill post a pic
