Importing RAW images

so i shoot with a d90 and as of now i have been importing my pictures into iphoto then opening and editing in photoshop. to me it seems like there is a much better way to be doing this. i feel like i am not getting the quality i should be and there has to be a more advanced, superior process to doing this.

also im on a mac.

if you have cs5 you should have a program called 'bridge' too, you can use it to import and do camera raw shit as well as look at all the files in many different ways to help you sort through things and make choices. it's dope as FACK! I'm pretty sure you can use lightroom or whatever too but i don't use that.

What version of PS do you have? I pull all the images off the card into a folder, then pull all the images from the folder into PS. Newer versions have a RAW editing dialogue that is wonderful.

A friend of mine who shoots commercial photography loves Lightroom. He does a lot of RAW editing there, and then imports to PS. I think it's pretty ill, but I don't like how it organizes things for you. I like to do that myself.

i'm telling you get bridge, it links straight to PS and has all the camera raw editing features. and you can arrange your photos however you like based on a shitload of criteria, or look at them in different ways like one at a time or all up on the screen as big as possible like a light table etc.

when I switched over to bridge/cs5 my photo editing/organizing got 10 times easier
