Important Clothing ????

I was checking out Snowboard Canada the other day and I was surprised to see how many crossover companies that are out there selling both snowboard and ski clothes. How do you guys feel about companies like Oakley, Helly Hansen, Sessions selling to both as opposed to ski specific companies such as Spyder, Orage, Phenix, Descente etc.???

Seriously though, as skiers don't you want to differentiate yourselves from snowboarding? If you wear whatever you want on the hill, why don't you see skiers wearing more Burton, it's some of the nicest stuff out there. Keep it core I say, then the masses will start to respect the newschoolers, because we'll have our own style and it won't just be snowboarding's bitch little sister.

 
i dont think people care about outerwear, if it was burton they wouldnt even think about it being a snowboard company, it has nothing to do with snowboarding, its just a jacket, dont worry yourself about outerwear,

i would wear what I like, but I would never go out and buy a Burton coat or somthing. plus im all about oakley.

who cares who makes it. if it keeps you dry and looks good y not wear it. I wear sessions and both skiers and boarders wear it, but who cares.

 
Companies that sell to snowboarders have snowboard teams - and they pay their snowboarders a whole lot more than their skiers. Support the companies that support skiing and skiers. And you can cross Spyder off that list - they're coming out with a snowboard line next year.

 
Jrich, what are you talking about? I see tons of skiers wearing Burton. You're saying why aren't more? Everytime I ski it seems like I see a skier with Burton gear on or other snowboard shit on. Just an observation.

as long as looks good i can wear it. i prefer companies that come from a ski backround though not snowboard companies that have switched over to selling ski clothes.

 
If Burton makes a better coat than a ski specific company, I'll buy the Burton coat because it is better. Get the best equipment available to you, who cares who makes it.

Wear skate brands!? As far as snowboard wear, it's just more functional for freestylers because it's loose and it allows us to move freely in all directions. Btw, check out the Bonfire CIO pants w/ studs, those'll be my boarder wear for this winter.

 
I try to shy away from big snowboard companies like Burton. First of all, they hate on skiing, and second of all, they are an evil corporate overpriced company which makes gear for pros, and little kids who have too much money, kinda' like oakley.

My money will be going to the ski industry as much as possible, but ski companies need to get their shit together. Spyder hasn't made a cool jacket for a couple of years now, and it also has to be affordable, I DONT HAVE $300 TO SPEND ON A FUCKING JACKET!

With regards to being a massive evil company, Burton is a private company owned by Jake Burton himself. Compared to a mega conglomerate like Adidas-Salomon, I think Burton is a pretty core company.

 
^In reguards to salomon, Microsoft looks like core company. Burton owns like four other companies which they bought in order to corner the clothing, helmet, and gear markets. Therefore they are an evil corporate company. That's my definition at least.

Evil corporations, huh? And Oakley stuff isn't any pricier than any other quality sutff.
