so now bush is a great economist. i'd take a look at that and rewrite that. the way i'm understanding what you said is war can do great things for ecmonics and you are absolutly right. companies like halburton and general dynamics are thriving on the war. also raytheon and a bunch of other companies including our good friends at exxon who find it a good excuse to jack up prices is the lowest blimp on the radar occurs.

but your a lil off on the pretty out of the great great depression. We got out of the great depression before world war. I think it was the new deal. lss on new deal. a shitload of groups were made including a few that are still around today even though they have been strengthened to give people jobs which led us out of the depression. if you meant war brings us to depression then soviet union, germany after WWII....
 
it might just be me, but i think its a good idea to give the troops all the recources we can. i should help end the war faster, and should keep the troops safer. if were not going to pull out (which bush is obviously too stubborn to do) we might as well give it our all
 
i'll cut to the chase. ever since wwII america basically has been policing the world. WHat happens when we leave iraq? is it going to be peace? i don't think so. when you date it shi'ties and sunnis are going to have a battle for the ages. do you not see this? then when you pull out of iraq it becomes a human slaughterhouse would the president whoever it may be get bashed for letting many innocent people die?

on the gay troop comment. i thought you liberals put gay rights near the top of your priority list. wow man support the troops. they keep us safe.

I would love to be president. If I had the age, ability, and funds to run, I would. President Bush did not go into his presidency thinking he could "make the world a better place". That's just flat out horse shit. He has been given many attempts to make the world better, but yet has continued to fuck over the Middle East and foreign relations worse and worse.

As an American, I stand by what I feel is right. I don't believe a lot of the things Bush's cabinet has done have been right.

Think about how ass backwards your concept is. Using your logic, people should be loyal to Saddam, and some of the very people our leader tried to get rid of. Your misconception of patriotism is scary. You blindly follow a man simply because of what others portray him as? That's really sad man.

Sometimes it is impossible for one person to make a change. People are trying and do want to change, but it takes time. Just because a change isn't happening overnight doesn't mean it isn't taking place.
 
See this is the misconception of all that think like you. No offense meant by that, but you can't win this war by pumping in more resources. It just doesn't work that way. There is no "winning" this war, it has already been lost. The only way we can come out of it now is to restructure our whole system of presence in Iraq.

What I mean is every day more and more people are going against the US. It makes it easier and easier to influence resistance when you are an 8 year old kid and both your parents have been killed by US bombs. The future of this war is to be determined by the youth, and that's the source of ending this war. It's a waiting game now, the more we push, the more we are going to get pushed back.
 
I heard this qoute from nam, I forget where I read it. They are talking about how they torched a village and the reporter asked what he was doing and he replied 'I'm destroying the village to save it'. I think thats how it is in Iraq, destroying things to rebuild them and make them better. I agree that the new Iraq will be much better without Saddam but at the same time I think its JUST like Vietnam in sooo many ways its sickening. We went to war on a HUNCH they had WMD's, just like we went to war with Nam when they allegedly attacked us at Tonkin bay (which was prooven false the 2nd time). When they found out these accusations were false, we were stuck in the middle of a seemingly unwinnable war asking ourselves why we are fighting. Vietnams reason ultimatly was the Domino theory but I have no idea what or WHY Bush would sacrafice so many men for nothing. Oil? Bull shit is all I can say to that. Why would we go to a war knowing that it will cost billions of not trillions of dollars just to get some Oil that wont compensate for the $ and the LIVES we have sacraficed? I don't see that at all. What are we fighting for? Just like Vietnam, nobody knows now, and if we pull out it will turn out JUST LIKE Vietnam and that is why I think Bush is trying to keep in Iraq, he wants to be successful.
 
I'll respond to a few of those points.

To say that you stand behind the president because he is our leader, but you disagree with his policies, in my opinion, is a horrible thing to do. If you stand by and say you support someone who makes decisions you ddisagree with, you're hurting democracy as a whole. I stood behind him for awhile because he was the president, but he has done so many HORRIBLE things (in my opinion of course) that there is no way I in ANY WAY respect him, in fact, I hate him with a passion because of things he's done and decisions he's made (I could go into detail here but I don't think I need to spell out everything).

He absolutly believe what he is doing is right, and that's the problem. So many people from all over the politcal spectrum have stood up and said he's wrong so many times that I fully expect everything he says to be torn apart from every angle. He has consistantly put his personal beliefs (religious and non religious) ahead of facts, science, and everything else a rational person would base their decision on. As SOOOO many people have said, he lives in a bubble completely detached from reality.

As for the people waiting for a change, I agree it's not the best thing, but we can't just go vote him out of office... we have to wait for elections to come. I voted last election when I turned 18, and I will vote once again this election. between these times I will sit here and try to educate people on what I feel is going on (happens to be the same that many many others do as well). I speak out against our government whenever I feel it necessary (when appropriate only of course), what else can I do? I'm not in a position in my life where I can take up politics, although I would love to be able too.

The case for impeachment ISN'T strong, but I do feel that there is a LOT going on that we don't know about, and won't for years to come. I do hope that with time lots of the truths will come out and people can look back and see how fucked up these 8 years were and learn from them as to never ever let something like this happen again (I am NOT talking about a 9/11 conspiracy). Mark my words, there is a lot more that is going to come out that will surprise a lot of people.
 
Agreed. America's wars against nouns havent gone so well in the past... like the War on Poverty, the War on Drugs... the War on Terror doesn't look like its going to break the cycle.
 
This "War" has been going longer than WWII now. President Bush and his gay group of circle jerkers have had more than enough time to give this war their "all". As it stands now, if Bush has his way, then we will NEVER be pulling out of Iraq cause the enemy might know and they might think that we are giving up!! God forbid we take our American Troops out of harms way. You cannot tell me face to face that all the soldiers over there wake up every fucking day happy as all hell that they have to fear for their lives everyday knowing that their is no end in site.....

And Bush still has a good almost 2 years in office so quit saying that its too late. Its never to late for anything. The real identity of George Bush is coming out now that hes not getting his way on everything and he realizes he has a short time in office so he will try and pull every bullshit stunt he can.

I watched that Interview with John McCAin too last night. That guy can suck a fucking dick. He wouldnt shut the fuck up and give the host of the show the chance to talk. Honestly, he doesnt even have the fucking respect to shut his fucking mouth while someone else is talking. He just keeps blabbering on. If I was the host of that, I would have seriously stood up and thrown a fucking book at him so he would shut the fuck up. Apparently McCain is running for president now, god help us so he doesnt win because he is like a spittin image of bush and his ideals....

So, for example, someone breaks into your house and steals all your shit.

So from the sound of it, this is what you would say "Ah man, someone must of really needed some money, glad I could help him.."

 
You have a great habit of seeing the points that fit into your pre-molded answers. If you want to see everybody that questions you (even if they politically agree) as brainwashed, so be it, but you're points lack credibility because of the way you deliver them. You do make good points and have, obviously, strong opinions that could EASILY be said in a more appropriate way (not referring to the swearing, referring to the formation of how you say them).
 
Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with people being assholes (I, myself, am often times a dick) but I'm referring to the last post I wrote in regards to these type of threads, which warrant educated opinions.

first of all saying this war is about oil is about the most ignorant thing that can be said. currently our largest supplier of crude oil is canada. other high countries on the list are venezuala, mexico and the saudis. Oil imports from Iraq are a very small portion of our total oil imports.

secondly, pulling out of Iraq right now, basically tells every small country in the world that they have the power to defeat the US (the worlds "super power".) this is not good news for the future of this country.
 
We are NOT the worlds Superpower anymore. And if we ever were, it wasn't for very long at all. I guarantee that no country could defeat us on our own turf, but yea of course, we will get our ass kicked on other soil (See: Vietnam).

As long as human beings are alive, there will always be attacks from other Jealous countries. People will die. Its not something you can always deter. Its just human nature.

The only way to ever "win" this war would be to NEVER EVER LEAVE because according to Bush as soon as we turn our backs they will stab us.......hahahah fuck that bullshit.

There is no possible way to WIN this war. Its not a war. It's basically the USA trying to be the police force of the world and our own soldiers are being blown the fuck up daily by suicide bombers (they want us out so bad, they are willing to blow themselves the fuck up to do it).

The vermont politician basically says that "Bush and Cheney blatantly lied" (See: Weapons of Mass Destruction, Iraq being part of 9/11 etc)

Bush uses the Constitution as his fucking toilet paper (See :Patriot Act)

Their technology is mind blowing.

Thier monetary system has surpassed ours. (if you havent seen, the US dollar isnt worth shit now in other countries)

They have an insane missle defense system (they shot an old satellite (in space) out from the ground and the US flipped shit.

You guys are fucking idiots if the only reason you think the USA is the superpower because we have the most nukes......Nukes are just about useless in this day in age (and super dangerous, because if we send one off, then others will to), plus other countries have missle defense systems.

I just hate what our government has turned into.

George Washington said "Be weary of political parties and stay out of foriegn affairs." He was 100% correct. If the original founders of the USA saw what they died and worked so hard for today, they would be outraged.

The current government reminds me of the starting point of being on our way to 1942 by George Orwell.
