yea all those are good. although I dont listen to jedi mind tricks much and immortal technique is amazing, but i listened to him so much he got a lill old. Brother Ali is amazing.

i like jedi mind a lot but their beats seem to over ride the lyrics caus i find mysel listen to the beets more than the words. i think immortal technique is better

no shit they werent. half the shit in just about any song is made up. It has to be that way, otherways songs would not be nearly as artistic. Its for the use of illistration. to make a point.

i don't really give a fuck what people listen to, i just hate the ignorance that comes out every time someone makes these fucking threads. i'm sure i listen to some rap that people hate and vice versa. this isn't really so much about good rap vs. bad rap, it's about nobody giving a damn how immortal technique, jmd and brother ali relate. what was this thread originally even trying to say? i could have made the exact same one that said:

immortal technique = over it

jmd = homophobic islam-worshipping hate rap

brother ali = the dope shimmy

if you want to make threads about artists you like, that's fantastic, because with so many people on this goddamn website, i'm sure you'll find someone with similar interests. just make sure you're actually saying something instead of upping your post count. grr.

and i had no intention of belittling anyone. i understand that people are into all sorts of stuff. i guess it just seems completely irrelevant to me when people make comparisons about the same artists all the time. i find i enjoy hip-hop from the golden era to a greater extent than any of the above mentioned artists. i still listen to revolutionary volume 1 from time to time as well as VBD but i prefer a more mellow vibe. i dont like brother ali because i feel that he is overly pretentious. again this is just me expressing my personal opinion. i could care less if anyone agrees or not. i guess im just saying broadening one's musical horizons never hurt b/c there is a lot of other good music ouut there (and not just hip-hop)...

I'm going to have to go ahead and say that Cage is by far one of the worst MCs I've ever seen or heard. I went to a Mr. Lif show, and Cage opened up for him, and I realized that he was essentially an emo MC who only speaks about the depression and rage of his life, never any positive or uplifting topics. He was a complete downer on the entire show, and even amped up enough stupid angry fat men in Celtics jerseys to mosh, which was unncessary and detrimental to the shows vibe. I'm sorry, but I do not believe moshing should be a part of a hip hop show. It's about putting your hands up and bouncing to the beat, not angrily pushing yourself around, hurting those around you and making others mad and amped on adrenaline. And that is why I do no like Cage. C Rayz is cool though.
