there is a 99% chance you wouldn't survive if you were actually on the mountain skiing. First of all your fucked if you are on a chairlift because you can expect the lifties are gonna try and save themselves. also the ash would cover the surrounding area and you would be lucky to get outta there before you died from some lung related problem. You shouldn't be on the mountain anyways as they would close it if there was any activity that could possibly lead to an eruption

Although highly unlikely, this is what would happen.

Imagine it's late June and you have just gotten off the lift. Suddenly, the ground begins shaking like an earthquake and the ground splits and tilts. Smoke, and fumes pour out of the crack. Then there is a small explosion, sending small amounts of lava and pyroclastic rocks flying. The ground is still shaking, and at this point you're racing down the mountain (you're probably going switch, because it's interesting and you want to watch, and you need to practice switch 2s on). The top of the mountain is nothing but smoke. Lava begins slowly pouring out of the top. You reach the bottom and hop into a windells van. Will Berman is driving while Steve Stept is in the back freaking out. Will finds a cave and hides inside it. All of the sudden, Hood blows. Massive explosion, smoke everywhere, massive pyroclastic rocks are flying through the air. The mountain is desimated, but the van survived in the cave. You emerge from the cave and see "silent rock" smoldering in the middle of the road. Steve is crying because his skis got stolen in the cats and you hit him for talking in the presence of "silent rock". All mount hood camps close. The end

If there was lava behind me and I knew I wouldn't make it Id go on the windells booter and try a triple (I cant dub)at least I would go out trying something cool while doing something I love.
 
assuming it was early summer and the winter wasnt absolute shit like this year, best bet would probably to bomb down to the old tram path thing and ski down to govy, where you could ideally find a vehicle and drive up the service roads on skibowl. If were talking mt st helens sized eruption that would probably be the only safe place, the valleys all leading away from the mountain would probabaly get flooded with landslides and shit

your probably fucked either way but at least if you make it up to ski bowl you can watch it and enjoy getting lung cancer

That would suck if you landed it and survived the eruption because no one would believe you.
 
It would be good for us midwest and east coasters because often large eruption result in partly global cooling winters for a while because of all the ash, so we would have nice winters

not saying i hope it happens tho..
 
use the dynamite in tanners boots to blow a crater in the ground. I would then hide in the crater.
 
i would use my own foreskin as a flame and lava retardant jacket/sleve to save myslef and if possible any other humans in the general area
 
My home mountain Mt Ruapehu has blown up with skiers on it before
