Imagine Being on This Lift

HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!!!!! That is insane! 110 mph and they didnt see it coming? good thing they are using recent weather technology...dumbasses
 
i would probably be scared as fuck, screw up somehow and eat shit off of it OR hang on for dear life and never let go of who i was on the lift with
 
I was on a chair and this happened almost that bad but not quite scared the shit outta me the wind came outta no where

I was on a lift once with like 70 mph winds I think, the trees were swayin way hard and one broke off about 10 feet from the base. It fell onto the lift cable in front of the chair in front of us. All the chairs dropped like 20 feet and then bounced up like 5 from where they usually hang. The tree then broke in half over the cable, one half was thrown up in the air and speared into the ground and the other half just fell off. I was like 10 and was scared as fuck.
 
it didnt really look like the chair was swaying that much to the side though, which surprised me, if they had any exposed skin im sure that hurt like a bitch though
 
god i was a lifte at copper and i was working the top of mtn cheif on the back bowls and we had that happen at first the wind was picking up and i was feeling bad vibes now too people that dont know at high winds your safer on the chair with it not moving, so its windy as fuck and gusts are hitting 50 and one hits 64 and im dont have the screen in the old ghetto two seater but the meter is hooked up to the shop where iam talking to the guy when i look out down the line and io see a wall of white and i watch the chairs pitch foward and then BLAM it hits my little shack and the guy goes fuck 100 mph. so i hit the stop and it held at that for about 20 secs of pure hell. and two people got blown off the ramp and slamed into the bull wheel support tower. some how they were fine.... we got the rest of the people off and closed her down.... fuckin scary shit

 
its happened to me before where it was so windy that our chair hit the lift pole. the chair twisted around and sounded like it would snap. A huge chunk of ice fell off from the top and hit me on the head. Without my helmet I would have been out. It was particularily sketchy because we were right on top of cliffs so the fall would have been dangerous.
 
I'm all for skiers being hardcore, but when the wind hits 110mph it's probably better to just stay home and watch some movies.
 
holy shiiit, haha. But why would you want to ski in that weather? Or was it just like a random wind gusts?
 
Ya we i went to jackson and we went over that, it was like HOLY SHIT! The lift was packed full so the people in front of you were like 15 feet above you, so if you looked forward all you saw was rocks. Its pretty sweet though.
 
i was in tahoe a few years ago...had 70 mph winds going up the lift.

they shut down an hour later tho.
