'I'm the decider'' - Bush

Of course he is the decider you bitch, you voted him into office to make decisions for you, thats how it works. Nothing would get done if everyone in the country voted on every issue. Wake up dumbass.

I take it you didn't look into the article. A bunch of generals of the army are calling for the resignation of rumsfield. Not only that, but half the country hates him. For Bush to come out and say 'I'm the decider' and no one else matters, is an insult to everyone.

Also, i didn't vote him into office, nor did any of the states surrounding mine. Sorry that we tried to do whats right for our country.

People like you are the reason that europeans hate us. You're uneducated (or maybe just an asshole), belligerent and offer no good insight into why you say what you say.

Sorry you throw a hissy fit everytime someone speaks their mind.

word to asac....

I read this article this morning and thought the same thing. Yes, we voted him in as "the decider", but "the decider" is also supposed to take into consideration professional, as well as popular opinion. For him to come out and say outright "No, I will not listen to anyone else, I am the final word" pisses me off. It is the very reason that we are in the position that we are regarding war and terrorism. Bush's stubbornness has lead to many poor decisions which greatly affect our country....

hes learning from "the best". dubya didnt do that great of a job in supporting his arguments that Rumsfeld is the best for the job. i suppose the 6 generals arguments are far outstripped by bush's key argument consisting of "hes doing a fine job."

Am I uneducated because I beleive in my country and how things are working, I think they dio a fine job, and you need to quit being a picky, over analytical bitch. If people judged you as closely as you do, you would be fucked.

no silly. youre uneducated because you apparently didnt vote democrat. and worse, your views differ from that of those almighty new englanders.

in fact, you should just give up right now and fall in line. cause being different than the left wing is being close minded. just remember that.

oh yeah, and this

RODHAM '08!!!!!!1111!!!!!!!111!!1

I wasn't old enough to vote. And I still wouldn't have voted democrat this time around. Your right, I am such a follower its not even funny. When will you catch on that the popular thing is to dish the US? I think me and like 4 people on this whole site ever defend it. You are the follower.

you can't seem to hold a civilized debate, so i'm done arguing about this. if you want to give me a good argument, with some actual facts, rather than personal opinion of how our country's government is doing a 'fine job', then please message me.

i'll back you up on you not being a redneck. i believe i mounted your skis for you earlier this season, didn't i?

hes the fucking moron is what he is.

i actually cant think of a single positive thing thats he done for the country, or any other country for that matter.

and he isnt the decider, rove is, or his dad is.

bush isnt smart enough to amek his own decisions

Soooo.....then it would be logical to say that half the country loves him? Alright I know the polls don't say that, but they also at one point gave him the highest approval rating of any President in history. So what you said is kind of an asinine statement.

bush couldnt decide what ceral to eat for breakfast. the man is a tool, literaly. and i dont beleive our government did a "fine job" in iraq and it was mostly rumsfeld's fault. his plan seemed great on paper, besides the fact he ignored there would be an insurgent uprising. anyone with any insight into iraqs stabilty could predict that. its not that i dont have faith in our government, but that the majority of people in power are conservative suits whose only skills seem to be in deception, manipulation, and finger pointing.

So let me ask you something. Would you rather have Dick Cheney in office for the next couple years? Honestly, he's one of the most cold, dry, and heartless people in government; no personality. He is also the most powerful VP in all of history. Do you really want him in Bush's place, please think before you answer.

can we just have a non violent uprising, where we can live in peace with out fear of war, and global warming?

Nice try, try six generals. There are hundreds of generals buddy, and for only six to disagree in a time like this is nothing.

Dont go get all excited over nothing.

what a fagzor

you hardcore Bush supporters, listen up:

2 things to get off my back, 1 you are all just going on the "im a badass cuz i believe in my country and youre a fag because you think otherwise" argumentative mind set. These people here, are trying to show you some educational stuff, not to prove you wrong or anything, but to shed some light on these topics that effect us all.

Also, you need to be in touch with the "Suggestive Thinking" psychology put into all of Bush's speeches, and his cabinet member's as well. They all talk of supporting eachother, confidence and whatnot to try to make you feel comfortable and to make you feel that they are being attacked verbally for no good reason. Open up your eyes, the truth is there, get it from someone else besides the President and think for yourself. If you can't believe what any media says, at least look at the basic numbers, because numbers can be skewed, but they can't lie. Always know exactly what you are looking at, who's point of view it is from, and what you can safely take from it without skewing your perspective.

And please, don't get so emotional over this, don't try to make it a battle between opposing viewpoints, try instead to share information and then a little bit of what you took from it in your own words.

As for that approval rating comment, I think he had a high one on Sept. 12th only because of what had happened the day before, but if you look up, perspectively with the times and events that were taking place, before 9/11 he had a HORRIBLE rating, and now it is the worst I have been witness to in my lifetime. Thanks for reading all this if you did, message me and i'll send you a cookie.

if you didn't find any of that important, then cool, i thought it was needed to actually get people to go somewhere with this thread besides yell at eachother on a computer. I dont understand where you're coming from, but at least your speaking your mind, right?

hmmm seems bush is pretty hypocritical that he is fighting to install democracy in teh middle east but yet he is the decider? that means he doesnt support democracy in America soooo......damn white man

Actually, his post was more relevant than anything else in this thread, because it highlighted the fact that this is not an argument. It's a news article, to which some idiot decided to act belligerent in the hopes that his agressive "Shut up, you don't get to question the president, I LOVE MY COUNTRY! WATCH ME WAVE MY FLAG!" attitude would frighten people into keeping their opinions to themselves.

That's not an argument.

Anyway, that was a pretty dumb thing to say on his part, but it's been 6 years, and if you're not used to him saying dumb things by now... well, wake the fuck up, it's gonna happen. Technically he's correct. As for the implication that his administration won't even consider the remotest possibility that differing viewpoints could be correct and that he could, therefore, be wrong... again, where have you been the last 6 years that this is news to you?

Again, how is this relevant? nobody said "WATHCH ME WAIVE MY FLAG" or anything close to it.

They simply pointed out it is the Presidents call to make.

You can cry about it all you want but just because six generals(most of them retired) out of hundreds and hundreds said Rumsfeld is doing a bad job does not mean jack.

The president has the right to decide who his cabinet members are. He is way to stubborn to quit on someone after six years anyway.

It's relevant to point out that someone's attitude is ruining the thread. Just like me calling you an idiot would be relevant. You're in here, you're talking, if I were to imply that you're an idiot, it would have a fair bit of bearing on the discourse. Not that I'm implying any such thing of course.

Silence is not approval. That's a dangerous way of looking at things. These are, of course, six retired generals. Two of whom commanded ground troops in Iraq. Now, their opinions are informed by the events they oversaw and the orders they received. Therefore their editorialization of events gains more credibility than some others'. The generals still serving cannot editorialize in this manner, because Bush is the Commander in Chief, and that would basically amount to questioning a superior officer. Which ain't cool in the military. Now, four other retired generals say these six are wrong, and that's a legit debate. But saying "There are only six of them so their opinion is meaningless" is ridiculous and frankly idiotic- oh, shit. I just implied it, didn't I.

Just know who's grave you are digging.

We (the usa)are getting deeper and deeper into this problem. We are creating more terrorists than we are killing. Our unilateral foriegn policy is alienating our allies and creating more problems than it is worth. Other countries like China, Saudi Arabia, and Japan are allowed to own our deficit. We are killing innocent civilians in a war on terror that will only increase fear and hatred towards the us. I have stopped pledging aligience to this mess, because I don't agree with what we are doing. We may have the most noble ideals in the world, but our actions are no better than those we call terrorist.
