I used Africa and Europe as possible alternatives being worse than America but thank you for entirely missing the point.
 
i would way rather be european or canadian than american, generally speaking. even you are probably a vast minority within america, its not like all americans live happy, easy lives. USA has a lot of fucking problems.
 
Try playing a sport or getting a hobby I make model cars and play soccer with my friends life doesnt seem too boring anymore

European Union has over 500 million citizens

European Council has over 800 million

Previously you said that Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece have unemployment of 20-25%

You are correct with Spain and Greece but Portugal is 16% as of November, Italy is 11% as of now.

You just made a bad comparison and are now saying dumb things to back up your dumb statement.

This isnt the point of this thread though and its a dumb argument anyways.
 
Yes I was spitballing figures, congrats. That doesn't change the fact that your quality of life is better as an American than a European all things considered. You've said nothing that disproves that. All you did was fact check my facts.
 
Yah I get what you are saying, but if you are an American able to afford to go skiing dozens of times a year you are already in the top 3-5% of the global population in terms of wealth. My whole point is bitching about being in the top 3% rather than the top 1% is fucking stupid. Either way, you hit the lottery of life and to argue otherwise is pointless.

if only i wasnt in the middle of a degree that is simultaneously making me depressed, stressed and questioning what i will even do with my life, i would travel.

engineering has only made me miserable. i hope to god its worth it, despite the fact that i hate the idea of having the regular engineers cubicle job.

Stick with it dude, I'm a mechanical engineer and love my work

the academic part of engineering just gets you a job, the job then gets you the money, and the money gets you the skiing/bitches (delete as appropriate)

If you enjoy solving problems, being smart, creative and innovative to design functional products or structures or whatever it is you are working on then you're going to enjoy what you're doing too.

Engineers, doctors and lawyers have long been revered as valued members of society. Don't forget why you chose to study this great profession, take pride in your work and enjoy the results.

I get your depression - its a tough degree and really sorts the men from the boys. You'll be proud of yourself when its done and you owe it to yourself to finish what you've started.
