I am. I mean, everyone is all dissapointed in the US team and all. Its like.. wtf do you want? we were 2nd in the medals category.. only 4 behind Germany, who of course, wins it EVERY YEAR.

Its retarded.. I mean. Everyone is all on Michelle Kwan's ass because she was hurt and didnt compete. Wtf? who gives a rats ass? Give someone else a shot.. damn... Shes won 2 silvers.. shes been a 2 time olympian when most olympic ice skaters make it one year and then they are done. who can complain? And notice, nobody seemed to care about Sasha Cohen, who actually WON something... and if she hadnt have fallen she would have got gold.. so whatev..

And the bode miller thing just bugs me. Everyone is upset that he doesnt care and thats why he didnt win.

Okay. Let me clear this up. He doesnt seem to care because he doesnt give a rats ass about what THE MEDIA THINKS. Shit, if he didnt care, he wouldnt race in EVERY ALPINE EVENT. seriously, there are some guys who do just Slalomn, there are some guys who just do Super G and Downhill, but no, Bode does THEM ALL.

Besides, its not like he had an amazing year this year in the world cup anyway...

Notice, they RARELY talked about Daron Ralves? Who is by far one of the most decorated American ski racers ever? being hes won like 15 World cup races?

I swear. People give in to the media way too fucking much.

And then its just getting worse with this whole Shawnie Davis vs. Hendrick thing.. They both won Golds. Just shut up about it. Joey Cheek is tighter than both of them because he gave all his money to charity, so shut up.

And last but not least, the Lindsey Jacobellis thing. People need to shut the fuck up about it. Seth Wescott did something similar at the end, only he didnt fall, and besides, snowboarding is about showing off and being uber steezy. Always has been. So she messed up? Whatever. Its not like she was winning the gold medal for YOU in particular, she was doing it for herself, so if she messed up and had to settle for silver, whatever, thats her mistake. Dont be pissed at her as if she let YOU down.. I wouldnt be dissapointed. Fuck, I would be happy if I got like 45th place and wasnt even close to the podium...

I blame it on the media and the spineless 45+ year olds who dont know shit for shit, and then ridicule the US team as if they could have done better. Could they really have done better? Sure, but then again, couldnt EVERY TEAM have done better too?

Its a competition. You win some you loose some. Get over it, shut up, and be proud of what you accomplished already..

 
Except for the mens hockey. That shamed me. I pissed blood after that. Damn Gretskys weak ass mother who had to die right before grestky was going to coach the olypics. And nearly all the good players wernt there. Mostly just young guns who couldnt play as a team for shit. The womens was amazing though. Those ladies are hot off the grill.
 
its the dumbass media, they should focus more on the courtious Olympics like Apolo, Joey Cheek (who gave away all his prize money), Shaun White and many others
 
canada did well this year which was nice to hear.

Dude, I've just been hella tired of hearing it from the media as if the team was a dissapointment...

What really threw me through the roof is Bob Costas.

After the Tom Brokaw-Bode Miller interview, he had a chance to clear everything up, to make a statement that ended this 'Bode Bashing' as I call it.

He could have been like, "oh, Bode is a great athlete, hes one of the only athletes who competes in every alpine event, and that might have been part of the reason he didnt win, for he didnt just focus on one single event alone"

But no, he went ahead with the "bode doesnt care" approach and said that "If Bode Miller doesnt care, then pretty soon, people will stop caring about him..

I was so peaved, because he totally took Bode out of context and just made an even worse situation...

bode miller is a fag though..hes a jerk to everyone and shows up to all his interviews shitfaced....and he sucked mega ass during the olympics...how can you 'not care' about representing your country in a glorified sporting event that the entire world watches....hes a douche
 
i agree. i absolutly hate bob costas. i was in europe for the second week of the olympics and the coverage there was amazing. it was on 24/7 none of this 8-12 shit. and they showed every sport, not just the ones the americans are good in. and they showed everyone, peoeple from those obscure countries who suck and no one gives a shit about, not just americans, canadians and the favorites. and the commentators like everyone and dont judge them or put any hype on them, they just want everyone to do good. after that i realized just how much nbc (and bob costas) suck balls

I origionally thought this too, but it was before I figured out that the media was doing it to him on purpose to make him out to be the bad guy.

They swarm his home in New England 24/7 and bug the crap out of him, they as him redundant and rhetorical questions that are just annoying, and also questions that would basicly cause him to say something wrong or say something that could be taken out of context.

If Bode didnt care, do you think that he would compete in every alpine event in the olympics? nobody else does that. Period.

The guy has won 2 silver medals. That doesnt make him a superhero like Benjamin Reich or even his teammate Daron Rahlves. I mean, Daron is way more decorated than Bode, minus the olympic medals. Rahlves has won so many world cup medals that he could melt them down and make a car out of it.

People hyped him up too much. Not to mention, his sponsor, Nike, possibly paid him to say some of those things, dont you think?

I bet money, that if you actually met the guy, got to ski with him, chill with him for a day, you would find out hes a pretty chill dude.

And if you dont, then someone else probably would..
 
bodes the man, but jacobellis i kinda take issue with. i couldnt care less that she threw in a grab, whatever, she was winning, i probably would have done the same thing. what bugs me is that she bitched out and wouldnt own up to it. "needed stabalizing" my ass, at least own up to having made a dumb move.
 
I agree. I would have said I was going to do a 1080 to show up Shaun White, but I decided last second to throw a simple mute air, and I fucked up. Plain and simple.

Bob Costas is the best sports commentator around, and he was the right to rag on bode when he comes off like he just beat off on the face of the olympics
 
Does the Olympics honestly affect any of YOU. I mean, did the US team really hurt us by not winning? Oo! Germany is so big and strong they won some games!! Actually, I could care less.

I watched some snowboard shit and it was gay. Oh CC Skiing too. Pretty fuckin gay how they train all year to go CC skiing.... I would go in there and whoop some ass. How hard can it be to CC ski? I used to do it when I was 5 in gym class and ski laps around everyone..
 
i think bode is the man for getting wasted the night before racing. i mean, it sucks that he didnt rep. the u.s. very well but its cool as hell that he would actually do that. i respect him a lot more now.
 
Its actually pretty fucking hard to go like 30mph on cross country skis for 2 hours and for 50 kilometers...

Thats why it was cool to see. There were no fucking Americans for once.

I honestly have grown sick of rooting for the USA...

If they are a celebrity, they bug the crap out of them untill they get something to talk about.

Jesus, hockey was an embarassement. From the moment the puck dropped against Italy I could tell it would be a tough ride, but they played every single game like shit, totally disgusting. I blame Wayne Gretzky and the coaching staff for selecting a disfunctional team, I pblame some of the players for not trying, hell I could go on and on....

Sweden owned, They havent won for a while. I was proud to be swedish that day, rep the Blue and Yellow yo.
 
Ya I probably wouldve like Sweden to win (if we didnt), until I heard they threw a game to miss Canada.
 
i'm actually very please we didn't do all that well. it's not that i'm not patriotic, i truly am, but i just like to see someone else win besides the US, it gets really boring

The US and Germany should both skip an olympic games or something. Let the other countrys have some fun.
