I'm Sick Of Kangaroo Flips

...anybody else feel the same way? Sure it's good, but i don't like how Jon is winning every contest with it.

i used to feel that way but now hes steppin it up and doin it switch, and plus it is such a sick trick.

well it kinda says something about the trick, when only a few people can do it. Unlike a cab 10. I think it should win every time until someone else does it better, like switch, or the whiskey flip. All of which jon can do. I would say he deserves to win, until someone does better.

It's not about trying the new stuff in comps, it's about doing the stuff you know you can do and you know will win.

I got tired of the same old spin to win, switch 10, contest bullshit. But, at the same time, I really dislike Jon's double flips.

Im sick of progression too!!!!!!!!!!111111111one1111!!!!!!!!1111111!!! US open big air should be won with a leftside 3 mute, thats what skiing is all about.

kinda is getting played out. but according to his interview and the clips in 7 Sunny Days, he's learned some new shit and some spinoffs from the kangaroo flip so maybe it will turn into something new pretty soon

i agree. like i cover events and film them and its like. the x games it was cool but it started to get over used and stuff.
and like its cool seeing it in person, but 3 runs in a row at the icer air was just over killing it for sure.
i thought someone like T Rains who was doing super styleish 10s was more entertaining. or somehting new like wutever the hell Sean Field tried

This way we see a million switch 10s and a kanga flip. Better than just a million switch 10s, I think.

They're getting more stylie, too.

jesus christ man, he's winning so many contests because it's such a technical trick! I think he's pushing the sport in the right direction....

yeah, i dont like theses double flips. I hope all skiers that want to compete aren't forced to learn them. You can't do super duper cool blunts in them either.

way to crazy

I can see where you get your opinion, but have you actually seen it in real life? I felt the exact same way until on November 3rd, 2007 I saw it with my own eyes at Icer Air. I shit a chicken. It was seriously the most amazing thing I have ever seen on skis with my own eyes. Once you see it in real life, you will respect the trick that much more.

except that gives the impression that its 1800 degrees or rotation...

if you must call it by its correct name, its flat 3 to flat 5 but thats a bit of a mouthful, so kangaroo flip it must be.

Sean Field went for a kang. It was more of a backflip into an underflip, but that is 2 flips back and 1 half sideways rotaition. Jacob does em different than Jon. Spriggs does em different too, as does Hatviet. The more dubs we see the more varitey we will see grace the slopes. bring guns to big air comps when they start doing triples, cuz that will be the cause of many teenage skier deaths.

I would much rather see a K flip rather than spinning till to hit.  Inverts with spins is where is at, and are much more risky!  Its fine for people to say they on't like this or that, most times it means they can't even come close to doing any part of the trick.

The bottom line of it is that in competitions, you do what the judges want to see. It's not about if the trick is played or whatever. The kangaroo flip is really technical and sick, the judges score it highly so Jon keeps doing it, and winning.

He's making a living out of it so i don't see why he shouldn't keep doing the double if it wins.

that's true, i guess if it's working for him there's no reason to change it. and i also agree with whoever said invert spins are better than just wildly spinning like a top. I guess things could be worse

i think it gets cooler everytime!!!!! its so smooth and awesome. I prefer a kangaroo flip over the same old switch ten anyday...

he just needs new grabs, that japan gets boring. japan is a very safe grab for that trick, if jon started grabbing other parts of his ski(tips tails, truck, critical, high mute etc) that would give the trick some new life

I like the kangaroo flips but it seems like he has no variety, and i would like to see different stuff out of him...

its not that its the same trick over and over. its that he does it the same way over and over again. he needs to throw some new grabs in it and stuff

kangoroo flips are hot!

I just think he could have done it only at his final jump at the icer air

Yeaht he imporves it everytime he does it, but what will happen is that if he do this again in a comp, everytime he will drop win, we will be: oh jon is throwing a kangoroo

I like the surprise that you don't know what trick is going to be thrown

again you forget to love one another.
i'm beginning to question how much of a peace coaster you really are...

Jon is a pimp.. and his kangaroo flips are FUKIN SICK... end of story you kids hate way too much.. if you had a sick trick and you could win every comp with it youd do it too.. its not like job is a 1 trick pony, he andreas and maybe gangier are the only guys who can do everysingle trick out there, the guy has fakie dspin, 10s; fakie misty 10s. fakie right side 10s forward left 10s, right forward 10s, crazy doubles kills big mountain and amazing cab cork 5's why hate?? do snowboarder hate on travis rice for alwayss doing the double cork and winning comps? no they give him mad mad props casue he is a PIMP...

dot com.

and to the dude earlier who said it seems like calling it a double flat nine makes it seem like an eighteen hundo... did the double cork ten travis rice did over chad's a few years back sound like a twenty-one-sixty? no. the double refers to the word following it, not the numbers finalizing the trick nomenclature.

so if jon does kangaroo filps and what ever else he's composed, for every contest this year..do u think he'll be unbeatable? how is he beatable?
